If you're a long time fan of the team, you probably know their uniform schedule. The Dolphins have primarily worn white at home during day games and aqua at home for night contests and the occasional late season/playoff 4pm start. With few exceptions this has pretty much been the rule for over 40 years now. But that may be changing. Reading through today's Uni Watch Blog, I came across this interesting little blurb: Going by their usual schedule, the only game (not counting pre-season) that they would wear Aqua at home is the Thursday night game against Buffalo. There are also no obvious road games for the aqua jerseys, and since an NFL team has until July 1st to hand their home uniform schedule into the league, I don't think that is factoring in to the quote above. Therefore, if true it appears we may be wearing aqua at home during some day games this season, perhaps later in the year. Not earth shattering news, I know, but a noteworthy little tidbit for those interested in that type of thing.
That's freaking awesome of true! Best uniform in sports, and we hardly ever get to see it. Just the "ghost" all whites. No logical reason 4pm home starts, especially after Daylight Savings changes, should be in white. Every other warm weather team in the league goes to the dark home uniforms for most games after September. Arizona even did when they played outside, for crying out loud!
I am so sick of all white I just want to puke . we don't even have a alternative uniform anymore . when I am watching tv and the fins wear those atrocious white uniforms the glare from the sun nto the camera makes it imposible to see who is who . i wished we had a second color helmet preferably a aqua helmet with a white circle to place the old logo inside. a bi color jersey of medium blue and teal would look cool or a orange and white bicolor jersey would be a welcome addition . the orange jerseys were my favorite but a bicolor would make me happy.
I have no problem whatsoever seeing who is who when they wear white for sunny day games. Maybe you need a new TV.
Wonder if that means they'll wear the aqua pants more on road games? Only did it in the cold weather games last year (Pittsburgh & Buffalo).
Should of changed primary color from aqua to orange. The U still has the best looking uniforms around, IMO.
I longed for the uni change for years, got what I wanted..love the all white, love the aqua, couldn't be happier. Only one thing that could make me happier and thats a black alternative with the aqua and orange. And a new stadium..
I loved Miami in the Aqua in the old days. Understand the reason for the white jerseys however - as putting the opponents into dark jerseys in the sun does have an impact (especially on linemen on hot days). I remember seeing many games where opposing DLs were laboring on the bench under the heat. It is a factor as teams from the north aren't used to the extreme sun and humidity. But, I think for any 4 PM or night game we should wear Aqua. And, late season games (from mid-November on) where the sun and heat are not such big factors, we should wear the aqua. The whites should be for 1 PM games in Sept / Oct.
I remember that time I couldn't tell if that skinny white guy taking the snap was actually Cameron Wake.
My thoughts exactly. Use the advantage when its there, but don't overdo it when it provides next to no benefit, or more likely none at all. If the team is decent and gets a prime time home game in the first half, then really the all whites should only be worn at home 2-3 times a season. I used to love the all whites as a road uniform under the previous scheme (over the aqua pants), but with the removal of aqua from the facemask and collar of the jersey, its just such a washed out, plain, boring look now. I like the aqua pants for all road games now.
lol, dual threat. i don't think it's a secret I wouldn't of drafted Ryan Tannehill at #9 two years ago, but when we did, I did think that's what we're getting..dual threat that is..apparently I was wrong on the dual part.
