It's hard to guess the exact player and number that we will pick, so I want to keep it at position only. (mention a player if you would like however)
What do you think we go with next year?

My guess is Safety. Not sure if Delmas will last all year, also not sure how Jones will produce. I think Ellerbe plays well this year, making MLB less of a need. Also think that Jenkins or Tripp could take Wheeler's spot next year if he decides to play like a blind man again.

So I think we'll take Safety Landon Collins from Alabama.

Can we finish the 2014 offseason, and regular season first?

The possibilities are endless based on the way this season goes. IT could be QB, it could be DE, it could be LB, it could be S, or a CB. Lets just play this season first, why bother to look that far ahead at this point, we have ther est of the offseason, training camp, and then a full regular season to enjoy first..

Man, it's too early. If someone nails the player a year in advance it'd be pretty crazy.

Running back is my vote. I'll go hometown with the Duke over Gordon/Gurley/Davis (studs!).

The 2015 RB class could be the best we'll see for a long while. The four guys above are first round talents, without a doubt, imo. Special players and freaky athletes. If he bounces back from his injury, Gurley's backup at UGA, Keith Marshall, is probably better than everyone from this past draft. If they all come out it could be a ridiculous class.

Picking a safety or a rb in the 1st round is poor in my opinion, they are not that valuable (unless you get an Earl Thomas which is very rare). Adrian Peterson is about the only type of RB you would want in the 1st round. DT/DE/CB/WR maybe a rush LB (which I hope we don't need) are about the only positions that we might need that are worthy of a 1st (hope to God we don't need a tackle or QB). Drafting Interior Olineman, running backs, safeties, orTight Ends in the 1st is just bad value unless they turn into perennial pro bowlers.

It will of course depend on how this season goes.

Lets assume that things go reasonably well, but not perfect. In that case, I think that RB, DT, or S, as those are the positions where one of the starters is only signed through this coming season.

the dolphins never seem to draft a highly sought after player . but if they do it will probally be another olineman.

    Slightly left of center
With whole lot of if and buts...DT. inside pressure is priceless. We desperately lack depth and talent from the front to the back of the defenestration's. I could see an Inside LB or a S but who? Clueless but I would be happy if we were comparing picks 1-3 w/ Manny Zach and Jake in five years.

I'm shocked we didn't go for Nix in the third this year. Kinda think we might regret that.

Obviously it is far to early to determine what position the Dolphins will take first in the 2015 draft. If the Dolphins make the playoffs in 2014 and Philbin remains the HC, I would have to suspect that the first pick in next years draft will probably be on the defensive side of the ball.

If on the other hand, the team once again finishes the 2014 season at 500 or below, I don't see Philbin returning as the HC in 2015. The next HC may decide that Tannehill is not the QB he wants going forward. In that case, the Dolphins could use their first round pick in 2015 to select a QB.

So basically, whether or not this team makes the playoffs will be the sole determination regarding the position picked in the first round of next years draft by the Dolphins.

I just hope it isn't QB, that would mean our hope has died yet again.

BUT...I just dont see how he can fail at this point, all of a sudden he is in a good situation.

Definitely not too early for this question.
