http://www.thefinsiders.com/blog/2014/andy-cohen-an-up-close-look-at-dennis-hickey There's more in there, it's fluffy..interesting about trying to push the envelop in analytics, I'll just take a very good evaluator and call it a day, cause we really haven't had one of those in decades.
Yeah, he's been in the league for 18 years and it's taken message board GM's to recognize he actually sucks.
Way too early to form an opinion He seems to be trying to build depth and I give him points for that. They need it along with veteran leadership.
No complaints about the Hickster as of yet. If Albert and Smith do good, that alone will make me really dig the guy.
I can't read these articles. They could hire Adolf Hitler and they'd write articles labeling him a "dreamer".
The Jury isn't even close to being out, he hasn't even had his first draft. People will choose sides in regards to Hickey much sooner than they should. But fact is we will have nothing but speculation for atleast another year,
I don't think it's about choosing sides. Certainly not yet. I think it's about digesting information as it comes. Some of us really didn't like some of the information that came out about Hickey's background when he was hired. Some others acted like we were murdering puppies if we expressed a negative opinion about him based on the information at hand, even if we attached disclaimers such as "if it's really true that..." etc. As more information comes it too will be digested, hopefully with an open and rational mindset.
Rational mindset??? Good luck with most of these posters...it's a rarity anyone expresses an open mind, they pick a side and normally stick with it vigorously.
Right now it is far to early to make any kind of judgement concerning Hickey as the Dolphins GM. He certainly wasn't my first choice for the job, but I am willing to see how his draft picks and free agents play during the coming season before I start forming any opinions regarding his player personnel decisions. Right now the greatest thing about Hickey is that he isn't Ireland.
