http://variety.com/2014/film/news/x-men-director-accused-of-sexually-abusing-teenage-boy-1201158645/ So based on these reports, and various stories from actors, under ground blogs, etc.....this **** is rampant, well known in the Hollywood community, and it happens and has happened for a LONNGGGGG TIME. Corey Feldman spoke out about it and even linked it to the other Coreys drug abuse and death. Speaking specifically on Singer, this dudes imdb.com message board has pictures of him with all kinds of "twinks".....and it seems hes well known in Hollywood for digging the realllll young boys. Gross stuff.
The more you look into this ****, the more it seems the "casting couch" is more than just porn for the adult girls trying to break into the business. Supposedly Singer promises roles in his movies in exchange for oral and anal sex. I even read some stories about the parents selling their kids or "prostituting" them for movie roles and ****. Its ****ed up.
Also from r/movies on reddit. The top comment has uncovered some sick **** about Singer, specifically. http://www.reddit.com/r/movies/comments/238mvl/xmen_director_bryan_singer_accused_of_raping_teen/ heres the link from top comment to a post on Singers imdb: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001741/board/thread/206514215
I read something like this about Hayden Panettiere once. Something about her being connected as a high class escort . The story really broke down all of Hollywood's perversions, beyond just her. Can't say I'm shocked to read these stories. As soon as you hit puberty, life revolves around around some combination of sex, money, and popularity, if not all three simultaneously. Given what hollywood is about, is it really that surprising?
I knew that Singer was openly gay, but I'd never read anything like that before yesterday. If its true its sad, but as others have said, it's likely very commonplace in Hollywood. Stories of young women on casting couches are as old as Hollywood itself. Its not confined to there either. I read a story a few months back where top end ballerinas in Russia are expected to be prostitutes to wealthy older men - its part of the career. To avoid "buying" anything that comes from people involved would likely mean giving up all TV and movies. Probably more than that as well.
Reading more into this, because I believe this is a bigger story in itself more than we know now, and sadly might ever realize.....I find they have a very very detailed business system with this type of stuff. Huge hollywood hills homes hosting parties for A and B list celebs.....all the while a 2nd party is happening in another wing of the home, with another body guard with a list of names, and thats where little boys (and from what I read its 10/1 ratio of little boys to girls)...are being passed around as sex slaves. The reason for a party within a party, is if Kevin James is at party 1, and rumors float about this boy stuff, if hes questioned, a beautiful alibi is "I was there and it was nothing but adults and people having a good time, nothing illegal".....when the real disgusting **** was happening deeper in the home, behind closed doors. It's really a ****ed up and sick situation, proving that money and power can top most of the laws of the land, because this has been going on for a long time, and its a pretty well known situation throughout the inner hollywood circles.
Looks like this whole thing might be bogus. http://www.tmz.com/2014/04/18/x-men-director-bryan-singer-sexual-assault-hawaii-toronto/
I found this difficult to believe to begin with, and now I'm certain that Singer has some massive libel/defamation lawsuit settlements coming his way in the future.
Suspect y'all have no idea how it really works out in Hollywood Not speaking of Singer individually, there is a sort of system that, well, does not shock me probably would others tho. Ever wonder why the supposed "pure as the driven snow" Disney machine types tend to go ****ing crazy as soon as they age out the tween and mid teen market.
That might be as simple as a lack of supervision and having access to money... Seems like the natural progression given those two things.
Or, the dissonance between public consumption of their images v reality of what goes on behind the scenes
The scene in The Godfather in which Tom Hagen dines at Jack Woltz's mansion was originally preceded by a scene (deleted) of his arrival, when he sees a distraught little girl in her early teens crying, being comforted by her mother. It's revealed in other deleted scenes that Woltz's price for signing the girl to a contract was her mother's consent to rape the girl. In the scene when Tom is reporting his meeting with Woltz to Vito and Sonny Corleone, there is another deleted scene in which they reference the "infamnia" of raping a child, and it factors into their decision to be as harsh as they were with Woltz—and his poor horse, Khartoum. No one is naive about the casting couch. It is legend because it is real; albeit exaggerated, as unconfirmed rumors usually are. In the Hollywood of the '20s-'60s, before the advent of the tell-all book and The National Enquirer, the press was complicit in keeping the town's dirty secrets, or its secrets that would otherwise ruin careers. That about half of the leading men during that time were gay, or that many were arrested for drug possession and the charges dropped, or that producers and studio heads routinely slept with aspiring stars and starlets was all kept hushed. It was a mutually-beneficial arrangement in a time when sexual harassment wasn't even a concept, and people could actually be imprisoned for being gay. But in the age of instant communications, the age in which every phone is a camera, it's difficult to conceive of a large conspiracy of child molesters having sex parties in an industry as public as the movies, without someone somewhere spotting smoke from the fire and blowing the whole thing wide open. I just don't buy it. Not like it's being described. Not a chance.
I don't agree that those things still aren't true or greatly exaggerated. Perhaps this story w/Singer is untrue, but Hollywood is still a skeezy as place, IMO. ****, look at that model claiming that famous photographer Terry Richardson molested/raped her... And she's not the only one coming out. Apparently, this guy has pulling this **** for 10-20 years... And yet, he's surrounded by A-list models and actresses, begging to get their picture taken. Frankly, the reason people don't talk about it is two fold. 1). There are benefits for the people using sex for trade. And snitching is career suicide. 2). No one believes them, and it likely damages them personally. Those two stigmas haven't changed in any number of years. Sexual Harassment as an enforced policy is still pretty much a joke. ****, look at the Jameis Winston rape scandal. He said, she said. No one really knows what happened and both parties have an interesting and reasonable argument. ATEOTD, the girl accusing him of rape got destroyed in the public and **** shamed. There's no percentage in being the victim. Hollywood has no rules. And it wouldn't shock me if there wasn't some shady eyes wide shut **** going on weekly.
There's a joke in there somewhere about Winnie the Pooh, honey, and sticky fingers... You hit a triple when you the 3rd base coach was waving you home, bro.
