lamar miller and dallas thomas are locks. egnew is far from being a lock. i also think shelby is likely a lock. and, where are the receivers? wallace, hartline, gibson, and matthews are locks. as for improvements, we need 3 more quality offensive linemen (2 starters), depth at safety, depth at lb, and one more quality tight end wouldnt hurt. hell, i would bring in another kicker...i dont have alot of faith in sturgis.

Why is Dallas Thomas a "lock" to make the roster? Whatever the reason or excuse was for his first year but he showed next to nothing. He has a repeat performance like that why would you keep him? Take draft status out of it.

Don jones as our special teams ace is probably lock. Nate garners versatility is irraplacebale on our unit, lock. As mentioned, millers a lock.

he's a lock because of draft status. personally, i wouldnt mind if he was cut, but it wont happen. they wont give up on a 2nd round pick after one year.

Moore and Egnew are definitely not locks... I see us drafting a mid round quarterback and an early round tight end.

Totally missed the wrs, but the top 4 are locks, IMO.

I feel Egnew is a lock bc he is basically our FB and he really played well towards end of last year.

I think you draft like there are very few locks. Sure salary cap issues constitute that some guys have a better shot than others, but I want to see the addition of talent at any possible time. I saw Ireland engage in way too much tunnel vision and pass up on serious talent in the draft.

Even if we draft the top back this year, Miller is guaranteed a spot.

I have revised original post to include wrs, add don jones to S and added list of our other players in italics.

We could really go anywhere in the draft and it be justified

Egnew is far from a lock. Would anyone be suprised if we drafted another TE this year? I would have liked to see the team move on from Matt Moore, but at this point, he looks like he'll be back barring drastic improvement from Delvin. If Pat clearly outplays him in TC and preseason, then I guess I could see the team dumping him at final cuts.

I think it's a little premature to cut a guy after his first year therefore Thomas likely stays.

Egnew was an Ireland pick and Philbin didnt know what to do with him.I doubt he will survive the final cuts.

I'm hoping that Binns, when healthy, can be the big tall WR that we are lacking. Seems like he's never been healthy long enough to really establish himself.

Egnew will probably be cut, immediately signed by New England, and catch 65 balls from Tom Brady :pity:

    Here are my thoughts:

    QB
    Tannehill
    Moore
    - I wouldn't put Moore as a lock. His future is really tied to how well Delvin shows in the TC and the preseason. If Delvin shows well then they could move on from Moore to save money or trade him.

    RB
    Moreno
    Miller

Thomas-Gillisee - I assume the guys in Italic are those you feel have a better than average chance but aren't necessarily locks. If so I agree on both of these guys

    TE/Flex-FB
    Clay
Sims - I would put both Sims and Egnew in the same category as Thomas-Gillisee. I could see one or both looking for work if we draft a TE high and/or bring back Keller
    Egnew

    WR
    Wallace
    Hartline
    Gibson
    Matthews

Binns - I wouldn't put Binns in this category. He is going to have to earn his keep in preseason to stick.

    OL
    Albert
    Smith
    Pouncey

    Thomas-brenner-garner

    DL
    Wake
    Vernon
    Jordan
    Odrick
    Starks
    Mitchell

Shelby-francis-autui - I think Francis and Autui both still have to earn their keep

    LB
    Ellerbe
    Wheeler
    Misi
    Jenkins

    Trusnick

    CB
    Grimes
    Finnegan
    Wilson
    Taylor
    Davis

    S
    Jones
    Delmas
Jones - FWIW The official roster lists him as a CB not a safety

Until we see what happens in the draft and after the signings of additional veteran players who they might sign before the regular season starts, it is really difficult to say if some of the borderline players you show as locks, will make the final roster.

I hope the Dolphins are able to find upgrades for players like Egnew, Dallas Thomas, and most of the LB corp. Right now the Dolphins have one of the worst starting LB corps in the entire NFL.

We should sign Chris Johnson and cut Lamar Miller.

It is very possible they trade Moore but 4 mil isnt a cap killer and what Moore brings is invaluable and what he is a total team guy. Why is it bad to have 2 good qbs?

Matt Moore's job is probably the safest one. Hes kinds like a wallet condom. Hope you never need it. Good to know its right there in your pocket just in case. You'd be really bummed if you needed it in a hurry to discover you neglected to make sure it hadn't expired or got a hole or anything.

All them other father mockers better start playing like there no tomorrow.

Wait a second.......why would you hope to never need a wallet condom? If you never need it, then you're never getting laid....

I don't think Matt Moore is "safe", I think he's potentially trade bait for his cap hit.
