yes we lost and our bats suck so far but at this stage of the season its about seeing how our pitching looks and Michael Pineda looked good. 95mph baby! 1 earned run. There is reason for hope with our starters
alright. well sabbathia picked up a win though he is still struggling. jeter moved up to 8th all time in hits and brett gardner stole the show today and got the offense going. Robertson is going to be interesting. he puts people on base. we'll see how many times he gets burned. so far so good
they traded eduardo nunez for a 20 year old lefty pitcher who apparently isnt suffering from rigor mortis!!!!! yes. it is confirmed, the pitcher is a living being on the downside , robertson is out with a pulled groin. finyank offered robertson his groin but no one has accepted that offer in over twenty years kelley, warren did a nice job in the bullpen, kuroda great job as a starter and jeter and solarte were involved in a couple of runs
well we got smacked. nova got shellacked. bout the only good thing is solarte hitting another two doubles. he's 11 for 24 overall. Solarte is the first player since 1900 with at least six doubles in the first seven games of his career. we were due for a bad game so i'm not too worried. all you can do is shrug it off and take out your frustrations on red sox fans
alright. was away for a bit. cubs game rained out tonight so lets recap the red sox series GAME 1 The Bronx Bombers opened the series with a nice little bombing run featuring the pitching mastery of Pineda, the hitting of Ellsbury and newbie Dean Anna all the red sox could do is this
Game 2 This was losing a battle in the midst of winning the war Sabbathia actually looked decent through five but then gave up the homer. glass half full or empty depending on your take. soriano blasted a homer also
Game 4 The fans of Boston hardly knew what hit them Nova just blazed through the lineup and beltrans bat continued to blast in the end
doubleheader today and the results are in tanaka 10ks, 2 hits, 0 runs pineda 3 ks, 4 hits, 0 runs first back to back shutout for us since 1987 and we continue to be undefeated to the cubs. thats right over 100 years of perfect domination Boys and Girls. The YANKEES have the arms back!!!!!
uh-oh said the rest of league collectively. sabbathia just pitched a gem and the bats of the bombers are exploding. The Big Bad Yankees are back!!!!!!! as a side note. On THIS DAY April 17th, in Yankees history The Babe gets married to Claire Merritt Hodgson 4/17/29 Mickey Mantle hits a 565 foot home run 4/17/53 In his first game as a first baseman Scott Sizemore helps turn a triple play, the Yankees 24th all time and Sabbathia's 3rd 4/17/14
yeah it was. So finyank, you gettin a wee bit excited by what you're seeing? I know its early but I'm digging what I'm seeing from this team so far
Sure, but obviously it is way too early. Injuries fatigue etc etc. I mean I was saying if Tanaka and Pineda panned out they have the deepest rotation in baseball and thus far you are seeing it. They might be the only team right now where the backend of their rotation is better than the front. The bullpen? Has been what I thought so far, Finkle's "Mo Theory" is true and they have some decent arms..... The lineup, I mean they spent a bunch of cash so you had to assume they were going to be better than last year, but to think Solarte is going to bat .370 all year I mean it just isnt going to happen. However he has certainly refreshing to watch, and sometimes in baseball it does just click in the mid to late 20's. But from them ie Anna/Solarte I just want solid defense and they have provided that anything with the bat is just gravy until Ryan comes back. Roberts seems to be getting comfortable and hopefully he stays relatively injury free. Beltran, Ells, Sori, McCann, Gardy, Suzuki are doing what they are going to do all year right now.....Jeter I mean the guy cant move in the field however he still hits, gets on base, and runs the bases well. Imagine if Tex comes back and actually hits a few? When injury free, this team def has some depth and I gotta give Joe credit he does well mix and matching DH with everything to give different guys a breather every night....I would like to see them sign Drew after the draft for the stretch run, but who knows.... All in all so far so good but except a downtick, this Division is going nowhere...
5-3 lead heading into the 7th and adam warren blows it and then we ramp up the fail eventually losing 11-5
agreed its too early and agreed on injuries being a huge concern. i like the bats. though i dont expect solarte or anyone else to hit .370 i could see him hitting .270 and that would be fine by me. As far as the bats, Jeter, Ichiro, Beltran, Ellsbury, Soriano, McCann, Gardner could very well be all we need to hit well and anything extra we get is just icing on the cake. The starting pitching, to me at least, is showing indications of potentially turning into a strength and there are some early signs that the bullpen may have some pleasant surprises too. Anyway, great start to the season and hopefully it continues
eh, if you just go by how he was pitching this year, then he's the one you want injured out of the five. obviously would prefer him not being injured lol. any word on who's replacing him?
