I am planning on going to NY the day before the draft and I want to attend the first day of the draft. Does anyone know how early people wait in line to get the wristband? I am planning on getting to the hotel at 10:30 am and getting in the line around that time. The wristbands are distributed around 6pm I believe.
I've been. It's not necessary to get in line that early really, IMO. But you wouldn't necessarily want to show up at 5:30pm either. See if you can hook up with DolfansNYC (probably the largest Dolphins fan group outside of Miami). They tend to try and meet and then cluster in the line together, then they take a head count and see if they can arrange to get all the seats together in Radio City so that they can start chants and stuff. You can find them on Twitter, @DolfansNYC
I went to draft year when Sam Bradford got number 1 overall. And I showed up during the lineup for the tickets around 5pm. And that got me tickets in the upper mezz of the radio city hall. Got my tickets at around 9:30pm. It's pretty neat experience, that's pretty just one time only kind of deal. The wait is just way too long to do it more than 1 time. Have fun though and get tons of pics!
What CK said is spot on. I went in 08 and it was a good experience. I don't know if I'd do it again because of the TV coverage offered but I don't regret going.
I've gone to day 2 of the draft the last 2 years. I don't have the free time to get on line for day 1. 1iota.com gets you tickets to days 2 or 3 of the draft, and you don't have to show up early. *^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^ IF THIS ISN'T MAKING SENSE IT DOESN'T MAKE IT LIES
I'm about an hour from RCMH and haven't ever gone. The day I'll go the Dolphins will trade out of the round to a different day, I just know it.
