Rocksteady's third Batman game. PS4, XB1, PC. Supposedly on October 14, 2014. Rumor is that WB Montreal (who made Arkham Origins) is working on a Suicide Squad game.
Same. I'll be all over this at release. Will be interested to see actual game footage. They may be going even more open world in a way that City and Origins didn't. Drivable Batmobile implies large range. It's interesting that Paul Dini, who wrote Arkham Asylum and City, and also wrote Batman TAS, isn't back for this game. So a different writer (or writers) will conclude someone else's story. That can be either really good or really bad.
I wouldn't call it disappointing. It was basically City with a less interesting overworld. I had fun with it. Whether Suicide Squad is any good is up for debate. For now, I'm all over a new Rocksteady Batman game.
Origins is a prequel that happens 5 years before Asylum and has no bearing on the events of Knight. You can watch the game, sure, but it's not required to know what's going on in Knight. The Deathstroke boss fight is pure awesome, though.
I have heard that it has no bearing at all....I have been meaning to still watch it though because the 2 others I played and liked alot....I will watch this one because I heard it was eh....
I saw a picture of Fenway Park from the PS4 and couldn't believe it was part of a video game. It looked incredible.
I forget exactly, but I think the story involved some kind of city lockdown (a cop out, I know). I agree that I hope with the next gen tech they'll make the city feel more alive. Not having to make sure it runs on 360/ps3 should help a lot.
That was Arkham City. On origins it was just Christmas night in a snowstorm. Still stretches credibility pretty far that NOONE is on the streets but gang members
LMAO true I didn't particularly like Origins too much anyway. I got very close to the end and just stopped out of boredom.
I don't necessarily agree with that. There are gang members on the roofs with assault rifles, sniper rifles, and high-powered scopes. There's a guy in a bat suit flying around. There are random murders and explosions. And the roads are impassable with snow. Are YOU going out in that?
An entire city with not a single regular person in the streets pulls my suspension of disbelief out of it. If there were actually civilians roaming parts of Gotham it would make it feel a lot more real to me.
I cop once said to me when I dropped a bullet down the defrost vent of my friends car in the winter and didn't know if it was going to go off due to the heat..... "err on the side of caution" I probably would do that if the above scenario that Des pointed out were the case...
Exactly. Oh, I forgot the assassins killing people randomly to lure Batman out, and the corrupt SWAT teams doing nothing about it. Yeah, I'm totally barring my doors and windows in that kind of scenario. Let someone else go out in that.
Sorry but the idea that an entire city the size of Chicago or New York has nary a single person wandering the streets is completely ludicrous to me
Origins doesn't take place in an area the size of Chicago or New York. It takes place in the bay area of Gotham. The rest of the city is inaccessible, and we're presumably going there in Knight.
No problem Des and myself could let you go out and get us beer and we can watch you get shot and stabbed at the same time!!!
Thus I would like to see the game have a population, don't see why that fires you up but I'd still like to see people in the streets
Yeah because in the comics there is no population in Gotham besides the criminals... Get a grip. I said Id like to see a city that, you know, behaves like a real city. Why that gets you two Nancy's panties in a wad is beyond me
Because the circumstances don't permit an active population, albeit conveniently for the developers and game engine. Remains to be seen if the next gen consoles allow Knight to have more persons on screen, allowing for the background population you want.
The US Microsoft Store lists Arkham Knight's release date as February 24, 2015. Or at least it did for a few minutes.
Preorders through Gamestop get Harley Quinn and Red Hood story DLC. I can't imagine this won't be released separately later.
