Too lazy to write up a review about him right now but he's my sleeper crush so I might as well give you guys someone to talk about. Great candidate for a Randy Starks replacement. I'm guessing during Senior Bowl week he takes a few days to adjust to the level of competition but by the end of the week becomes one of the shining stars, leaving everyone asking "Will Sutton who?". Keep in mind the below clip is from last year.
Totally agree. A cross between Reggie White and Casey Hampton. One of the things I like hearing about him articles is how vicious he is out on the field. You can't coach that, and all the truly great DL had that quality. Besides, he can sing the national anthem for us as well. Dude is really talented.
That may be the first and only time anyone has ever mention vicious when describing a Princeton grad, lol
Todd wrote this before the senior bowl, then he tore the combine up, along with Phillip Gaines, who tore the bleep out of the combine, we could be looking at two players found in the mid rounds that folks are sleeping on.
The Dolphins probably won't invest in Reid but I would not be surprised if Gaines ended up a Dolphin.
I don't see much if any difference between Gaines and the top tier corners. Surprises me he's not been mentioned as a possible sleeper to sneak into the 1st round. Seattle & San Fran would love him I'd have to think, especially Seattle whom he fits to a T.
Phillip Gaines is so intriguing to me, sometimes I watch him and I think he's such a bad *** the way he moves and covers.
Main difference is Gaines is terrible in support and tackling. Reminds me a lot of Nolan Carroll coming out of Maryland that way.
True, but do you think it's because of a fear or being a wuss? Or just because of his lanky build and less strength?
At 6'0, 193 and with a 36.5 vert & 10'03 broad, he's at least got the size and lower body pop to address it if he's coachable.
