If Miami doesn't bring back Soliai and Starks and can't find suitable starers via free agency, I'd love to double-dip in rounds 1 and 2 and come away with Louis Nix and Aaron Donald. If Miami's hell-bent on running the 4-3, then I wonder if you can make the front like New England's in certain ways. Miami's got a blue-chip pass-rusher in Cameron Wake, which I'd say ranks heads and tails better than Chandler Jones. Both Dion Jordan and Olivier Vernon have some elements that Rob Ninkovich has as a hybrid DE/LB that can rush, play the run, and drop in coverage. Frankly, if you could fuse Jordan and Vernon into one player, you'd be onto something. I'll hold out hope that Dion Jordan can be what Michael Johnson is for the Bengals, plus the coverage skills. You'd have your Vince Wilfork type of run-plugger in Louis Nix who is scheme diverse coming from Bob Diaco's defense. Aaron Donald reminds me a lot of a Geno Atkins type of player, which IMO, is one thing New England lacks. But, if you can walk into 2014 with Wake, Jordan, Vernon and Shelby at DE and Nix, Donald and Odrick at DT, I think you're pretty set. I'd try and bring in a cheap vet as Bryant McKinnie alluded to (Colin Cole perhaps?) and/or develop one of the two between A.J. Francis and Isaako Aaitui. Tying this back to the Draftek mock, Aaron Donald in round 2 would be a HOME RUN!
You still like the Bama LT at 19 after that bowl game he played? That was ugly, thought he got seriously exposed. He was so bad he apologized to the fans.
Rob Rang at CBS has Joel Bitonio being drafted as a OG and going in the 2nd round. I agree, late 2nd or early 3rd. I want him to play LG for the Dolphins. Drafttek has Bitonio going in the 7th round, the 2nd from last pick in the draft. WTH?
I'm up and down on Henderson. He has tons of physical potential, but it feels rare to see him dominate a game the way he should. On physical talent alone he is a first rounder, but when you watch him play there is a good reason ge will go between the late 2nd and 4th.
The guy doesn't play an entire career and then suddenly get "exposed" in one game. He's good. And getting better, not worse.
