Some predictions for this game have popped up in one of the Dolphins threads so I thought I'd start a proper thread to discuss this game. I think there's no doubt it will be FSU's toughest test to date but I still see them winning by two scores when it's all said and done. The Tigers turnaround from last season has been remarkable but they're about to hit the brick wall of reality. That reality is that Florida State is simply the most talented team in the country. Enjoy telling me how I'm wrong.
Anytime a team has a month to game plan anything could happen. Also FSU hasn't really played many good teams. If Auburn won I wouldn't be shocked
Hope not, talking mad smack with a really interesting female FSU fan on FB Usually, these offense hit bowl games and hit a sand bar...I hope...need some bragging rights here
You wouldn't be shocked if Auburn won by two scores? Keep in mind FSU has a top offense and the Heisman trophy winner at QB and Auburn has a poor defense. As a matter of fact no BCS participant has ever had a defense that's given up as many yards per play as Auburn's.
Not saying that FSU will lose (I think they win because Auburn's defense isn't good enough), but it wouldn't be the first time a team who was dominant in their regular season and led by the reigning Heisman winner came out and lost by 2+ scores... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007_BCS_National_Championship_Game
FSUs strength is their passing game .Auburns weakness is their DBs .It looks like a mismatch on paper . So logically I am picking Auburn .SEC bias is strong in me and overcomes any logic.Noles play weak schedule.
Auburn 48 FSU 41 Its really going to depend on if Auburn will be able to run on FSU or not. If Auburn cant, FSU will win big. But, If LSU, Georgia, Alabama and Missouri, couldn't stop the run, I dont see FSU being able to either. Plus, Missouri is very similar to FSU in a lot of ways, so Im guessing it will turn out alot like that.
Reason why I think it will be that score is because I don't trust Nick Marshall and I trust FSU's defense to shut down the run. Anyways Florida State apparently got the Panther's locker room, pretty messed up joke they pulled here:
Even though I'm enjoying the humbling of the "SEC", and with an Auburn win they will all go back to over exaggerating the strength of the conference.....I'm still pulling for Auburn. Why?? I have seen way too many FSU fans emerge from out of nowhere than I can stomach. Also I just flat out like Gus and the boys, they play hard and I know I will see some great plays from their offense. Ultimately I just want to see a good football game though, the NC games have been snooze fests the past 2 years. Tigers 41 FSU 37
Dude what do you want from me? Look at my prediction. I picked FSU to win and cover spread. I just wouldn't be shocked if Auburn did win.
Yes, but the other stat ESPN was talking about today is no team has played in the NC after playing a schedule as weak as FSU's. Not sure it matters, but basically they are trying to say we don't really know HOW good FSU is bc they have beaten up weak opponents. Being a Gator fan, I remember when everyone thought OSU was going to destroy us bc they had destroyed everyone all year... That being said, I do think FSU wins and I am guessing by 10+ pts. Let's say 38-28.
They haven't been tested the way Auburn has recently. It's been a while since the Clemson game which was their stiffest opposition to date. It should be a fun game.
The best example of this was Ohio State Miami 02...Miami had more talent than any team I have ever seen to that point and since. The Buckeyes were 13.5 point dogs. Point? Over confident teams do not normally bode well in these games.
@AdamHBeasley 1m Oh man, just saw @McShay13 list of FSU and Auburn draft prospects. Noles might win by 30.
