Hey yall check this out. 7 round draft simulator....runs pretty smooth. http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/ Lets see what everyone ends up with.... Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk
Just picked the highest player based on need: 19 OT CAMERON ERVING FLORIDA STATE 51 OG ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME 83 RB CHARLES SIMS WVU 115 ILB MAX BULLOUGH MICHIGAN STATE 147 DT CALVIN BARNETT OKLAHOMA STATE 179 S SEAN PARKER WASHINGTON 211 OT KEVIN GRAF USC No idea if the players are talented, but position wise I think this would be a real decent draft.
Had some fun with it. Disclaimer: my CFB knowledge is limited. YOUR PICKS: 19 ILB C.J. MOSLEY ALABAMA 51 OG ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME 83 DT ANTHONY JOHNSON LSU 115 RB JAMES WHITE WISCONSIN 147 CB DEION BELUE ALABAMA 179 OG ZACH FULTON TENNESSEE 211 OG JON HALAPIO FLORIDA
1. ILB CJ Mosley - Alabama 2. DT Aaron Donald - Pitt 3. OG Xavier Su'a-Filo - UCLA 4. DT Dominique Easley - Florida 5. CB/S Andre Hal - Vanderbilt 6. OT Billy Turner - NDSU 7. RB Jerome Smith - Syracuse There's two DTs in there, with the caveat that you'd franchise one of Starks/Soliai while Easley got healthy then let them walk after a year. Use the saved money to pick up a FA OT and plug in Billy Turner on the other side. Jerome Smith replaces Daniel Thomas as the default power back.
Had every intention of going OL early and often, ended up with this: 1. WR Marquise Lee 2. LB Kyle Van Noy 3. TE CJ Fiedorowicz 4. RB Marion Gice 5. OT Billy Turner Went for the talent, but I would have taken OT Greg Robinson if he was in this simulation and available. Van Noy to OLB, Misi to MLB, Jordan to OLB, Wheeler and Ellerbee to the curb, save a bunch of money (not sure about cap ramifications) and pump it into OL in free agency. I do like OG/OT David Yankey from Stanford, and if I went 6th and 7th rds I'd look hard at OG Brandon Linder and LT Wesley Johnson, who looked awfully good in that clip against Clowney.
****. I got the following for the Miami Dolphins: 019: QB Teddy Bridgewater, Louisville 051: TE Jace Amaro, Texas Tech 083: RB Carlos Hyde, Ohio State 115: DT Dominique Easley, Florida 147: FS Nickoe Whitley, Mississippi State 179: OL Billy Turner, North Dakota State 211: OT Wesley Johnson, Vanderbilt The only regret there really is that Aaron Donald didn't fall to my R2 pick. Also I should add that my current FA plan involves, in part, making hard runs at both OT Anthony Collins of the Bengals and OL Rodger Saffold of the Rams. So I kind of figure that into it all. Billy Turner is fully capable of playing guard I think.
When a problem comes along: 1. OT Cameron Erving 2. OG Zack Martin 3. OT Ja'Waun James 4. OT Santreal Henderson 5. OT Wesley Johnson 6. OT Billy Turner 7. OG Jon Halapio If I knew I was going to go all OL after the 1st rd, in hindsite I'd take Marquise Lee #19, then the rest. WR Lee, 4 OTs and 2 OGs I could live with. Overreaction? Of course, but I enjoyed it.

Again I have to point this out. The really cool thing to do with this game would be to use the fans' drafts as a tool for constantly updating the site's "big board". That way you can also offer statistics on whether players "draft stock" is rising or falling. If anyone here knows anything about programming this kind of sh-t and going live with it, I would legit be willing to map out the things I have in mind for doing it...and if it costs some amount of money to put it up and you think there could be legit ad revenue to be had, I'd be willing to go in on that too.

How could I turn him down? Even with Tannehill here. The most important thing is that you've got an elite guy. It doesn't matter how you do that.
I re-did it just because I think it's stupid that Teddy Bridgewater was still on the board and I had to take him just on a BPA basis. Then again, it's just as stupid that I had to take Melvin Gordon as a BPA when Melvin already announced he's staying in school, lol. Didn't allow myself to take any of the players I took in the previous draft. 019: RB Melvin Gordon, Wisconsin 051: DT Aaron Donald, Pittsburgh 083: OT JaWuan James, Tennessee 115: DE James Gayle, Virginia Tech 147: WR L'Damian Washington, Missouri 179: OG Zach Fulton, Tennessee 211: CB Stanley Jean-Baptiste, Nebraska

Like this one much better. Need to fix the offensive side of the ball. This gives Tannehill both the weapons and the protection to help make us succesful. Garrison Smith is a nice sleeper in my book. 19 WR SAMMY WATKINS CLEMSON 51 OG ZACK MARTIN NOTRE DAME 83 OT JA’WUAN JAMES TENNESSEE 115 RB DE’ANTHONY THOMAS OREGON 147 DE JAMES GAYLE VIRGINIA TECH 179 TE COLT LYERLA OREGON 211 DT GARRISON SMITH GEORGIA

Have you watched many drafts?? Brandon Weeden, Tim Tebow were traded UP for and drafted in the 20's not at 19. And neither are as esteemed as a prospect coming out.
Mine: 019 -- Mike Evans, WR, Texas A&M 051 -- Aaron Donald, DT, Pittsburgh 083 -- Kony Ealy, DE, Missouri 115 -- Ja'Wuan James, OT, Tennessee 147 -- James White, RB, Wisconsin 179 -- J.C. Copeland, FB, LSU 211 -- Wesley Johnson, OT, Vanderbilt With the early picks, I ignored need and went with what I considered to be the BPA. I don't like drafting WRs this high, but a guy like Mike Evans at 19? That's too much to pass on. Aaron Donald fits a need and could be the Geno Atkins this defense needs. Kony Ealy was the BPA, IMO, and also a guy I'm looking at as a down the road guy. At his size, I think he will be a more capable long term DE than Olivier Vernon, and his drafting might allow the team to use Olivier more as a 3rd DE or perhaps a stand up rush backer that they can use to blitz the A gap. Ealy has the size that he should be able to hold up against the run. Ja'Wuan James in the 4th round. Are you kidding me? It didn't take me long to make that pick. James White backs up Melvin Gordon but is probably a better pass blocker than Gordon. JC Copeland is a bull of a fullback who is a hell of a lead blocker and also can get you yardage in short yardage situations. Wesley Johnson in the 7th round? The fact that he was there makes this an unrealistic draft.

This draft will get us by the Pats. Add in a RB in Free Agency (Jonathan Stewart?) and some defensive reinforcements at LB and DB and were set!
I understand the BPA approach, but only to a certain extent. If we drafted a QB in the first round I'd be pretty pissed, to put it lightly.
