http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap20...rick-peterson-joe-haden-nfls-best-cornerbacks he is going to be expensive this offseason... I'm on the fence when it comes to paying that much for a cornerback... What do you all think?
That is a very good point... Though "Dumby Davis" and "Hands of Stone Smith" are on the list, which has me surprised. I would have def hated giving a big contract to Smith.
They are going to franchise him, he aint walking.... I would love to work a deal out with him though....he is a major reason why they have only given up 1 TD all year through the air.....
It's called the Franchise Tag. Why is this even a discussion? Grimes has even hinted that he would be ok with the tag.
the corner franchise tag carries a high number, a three year deal might suit us better in relation to signing more of our guys.. Does anyone else see grimes wife as Cuba goodings jr wife in Jerry McGuire.. " you are a strong black man" and there ain't no way you pr gonna accept the franchise tag..baby.
I think the average is in the 10-11 range which is what he'll command (maybe more) on a 3-4 year deal.
To a WR. They have given up several to TEs or other positions. Carroll 2, Wilson 1, Taylor 1, Clemons 2, Jones 2.
I don't think they had a Franchise Tag at the time of Jerry McGuire did they? I've only seen the movie once, so they may have. Originally, Janet Jackson was accepted for the role of Cuba's wife. Had she actually played the role I may have seen the movie several more times.
That's the beauty of unrestricted free agency. Contracts to the likes of Brandon Carr and Cortland Finnegan are starting points and neither could carry Grimes' jock strap. Revis, it can be argued, hasn't impacted the game the way Grimes has - and he's making QB money. If I was Grimes' agent, I would break off negotiations with a 3/25 offer. Carr and Finnegan would have to be the starting point.
So, you like chicks with balls? ***** too? Tell me more DJ. Janet would have been great in that role. Though it's academic now.
Sometimes it's difficult for many to look past the dislike to give credit but this was indeed an excellent signing.
I'd prefer 3/25, but if he balks, I have zero problem if they paid him 10 million/year. He's a damn good corner, good citizen and works hard, leads by example. Everything V Davis wasn't
I agree, we need him...I think were gonna have to let Patterson and carroll walk..which I know sounds tough but we've got two high draft picks that must fill their shoes.
Looking at anything from the perspective of an agent is....unsettling. If there's anyone who's on the complete opposite side of whats good for fans, its the agents.
