We all need to stop jumping too conclusions in this thing. The reason is that this thing is not over yet. More info comes out all the time and its probably not stopping any time soon. Already, new info is coming out that is contradicting old info, for example: - Martin left because of a prank. Which then turned into hazing. Which then turned into bullying. Which then turned into Incognito being racist. Which then turned into coaches wanting Martin toughened up. And now many black teammates are telling Armando that Ritchie is so NOT racist, that he's been accepted as an honorary black guy by the team and that Martin isn't really accepted by anyone because they believe he's soft due to his upbringing. Lets just stop calling for heads and making declarations before we get more info. For all we know there isn't an actual bad guy in this story or everyone is. We don't know, but we do know the more insane we get, the more the media will feed it. The more the media feeds it, the more the team suffers. The more the team suffers, the less likely they are to keep this season turned around.
I can't be the only one that remembered last year? The media fed us the wrong info consistently about potential coaches, QBs and being a "laughingstock" around the league. All it did was create extra tension and issues that had to be dealt with like the picketing and fireland banners, instead of dealing with football. You can pretend that negative publicity like this causing a firestorm doesn't hurt a team and become a distraction, but we all know better than that.
I don't know about anyone else, but I'm just taking it as it comes. People keep asking me about this expecting me to be all out of sorts over it. I really could care less. It might be terrible, it might not be.
He has nothing to gain by speaking right now, so he will stay quiet. All focus is on Miami and Incognito at this point
That's the media overreacting. How is it going to hurt anyone if the people reading this message board jump to unwarranted conclusions? Some people will say something that later makes them look stupid? Shoot, welcome to the internet...
Its odd, you're not understanding this. Who exactly do you think pickets, gets banners and buys tickets? hell, who clicks/reads the media's stuff?
I am so sick of hearing about of every tv station, radio. ,newspaper. Monday night can't get here soon enough. Not even going to watch the damm pregame
I don't see how Martin is at any risk of criminal charges, so remaining silent isn't a strategy that most lawyers would advocate. While some people may have some personal sympathy towards him, that won't help his position on the team and it won't get him another NFL job. I think most people think that, regardless of what Incognito may have done, Martin is soft and probably not suited for the NFL. Staying silent does nothing but reinforce that impression, which makes it less likely that Martin will have any kind of NFL future. And he may not want an NFL future, but if that is the case, staying silent doesn't really accomplish anything for him either.
Martin May actually need time for treatment or therapy before he's ready to say something. Maybe all parties have been asked by the league to keep quiet until the investigation is over.
Yup, not going to touch pre game or half time with a 10 foot pole...... post game after a win however............
Honestly it doesn't really bother me. It is what it is at this point. It's a mess and it sucks but the most important thing that matters to me as a fan is what happens on the field. Let them continue to tear us apart and I'll watch the players rally together and win a football game.
I can already kind of see what happened. Coach told Incognito to "toughen" Martin up. This was his way of doing it. Let's face it, Incognito was not exactly Mensa material. So he did it the best way he could think of. He's an innocent doofus.
Looking at locations, it seems to me a large percentage of the people on this board don't live in the Miami area.
How do you bully a 24 year old man, please this complete bull**** and some are saying that this problem between two players is worst than the bounty scandal with the Saints, it's not like Cogs raped him in the team showers.
Shyt doesn't add up. The guy played for harbaugh. He is 24 destined to be one of tomorrow's leaders. Should be able to destroy inco in a battle of wits with his hands behind his back. Inco is part of the leadership council. The locker room seems to be on inco's side here across racial lines. Somebody used the term money grab in a post earlier. I hate to sound insensitive on a subject the world media has been blowing way out of proportion, but is it far fetched to think inco may be a victim here. Martin could be trying to right his ticket with this. There are voicemails and text but things can be construed wrongly and out of context compared to what really went down at the facility. The truth will come just keep calm and row...... I have been hazed at every level in football but the fact is the offensive line is a whole other breed and you either become part of the pack or your eaten alive. That's life. I have no sympathy for a 24 year old Stanford graduate making millions playing the sport I love, the position I owned and crying about being bullied by a fellow lineman/veteran leader.
I'm clear now Fin... Middle finger to everyone out there who is assassinating the character of our team...this was not deserved.
