I got to admit that I was never that fond of Hartline and Miller but last night they all three made a believer out of me . even Wallace made a couple of good plays so I want to see more out of him as well . I still dislike Mike Sherman and I 'm not sure R.T can be the qb for us but we will see. I was very frustrated with only scoring one offensive touchdown but I will blame the o.c. just doing the same play as running up the middle four plays in a row wont win us any more games so we have to pass the ball better . Mathews impressed me and he almost had a touchdown in the 4 th qtr . we need another tightend even if it s for one year but I don't think we will sign any more players . scoring 17 points shows me we just don't have a good offense but how much can we trace to the qb , oline and O.C. ? To spend so many millions of dollars and to have 1 offensive touch down wont cut it . the oline played better and Wake played lights out. the thing I like is our defense especially the dline. what disappointed me was the attendance Miami is getting shredded by the media for this . but the crowd was loud so I will give it up to those folks. so if the the attendance is bad how will Mr Ross make enough money to keep the team in Miami and what does this mean if we slip back lose again and look bad doing it. these are the things I 'm happy and concerned about.
We didn't run the ball up the middle enough IMO. Also, Halloween night on a work night is a TOUGH ticket to sell. People take their kids trick or treating, and most have work in the morning. The game wasn't over until midnight... which puts you home around 1am. Hard to do for most people that work an 8-5. I was there though. The people that were there got as loud as they could...
Well, we probably score more offensive points if Miller (who I much prefer to Thomas) doesn't fumble after a pretty nice run (even though I thought he should have housed it). Also, the possibility of more if we don't have a 97-yard INT return for a TD, and Cinci doesn't own possession for 12 minutes plus of the third quarter. One other play that I thought could have gone even bigger was when Tannehill hit Wallace up the middle of the field when he had all kinds of space to the left. Wallace took off, but on that play, he sort of seemed stuck in neutral a bit. I really thought he might pull away and score, when he first caught it, even though a guy had the angle on him.
Wallace tried to juke a guy and I think he left a few yards on the field by not just running really fast.
Matthews is gonna be good, no worries there..best combination throw and catch of the night..biggest play of the night..the guy has clutch hands, and is ridiculously strong.
I'll be honest, the fans were a lot better than I thought they'd be. A lot more people there than I anticipated. It was pretty damn loud at times on TV. Good job!
