Why not? I figured we can info dump releases, exercises, qualifying offers etc...... Lets begin boys...... Start with an obvious one....
Chris Perez was just released by the Cleveland Indians. What's the over/under on the number of days it takes the TB Rays to sign him to be their closer next year? And in a completely unrelated note see him make the All Star team and end the year with 40 saves and a sub 2.50 ERA?
Oh you absolutely have to take a look at him. Especially since he is about 30 minutes from St Pete. I played and caught Chris from about 13-16.
Please take a look at this link: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/schedule/important_dates.jsp It has all of the important dates/deadlines for this off season. The first important date is Monday, when teams have to decide to give QO to FAs.
I was thinking of him for the Yankees as well, at least to have as back-up if D-Rob doesn't bode well....
Should be interesting to see who's going to overpay for Brian McCann. I love the guy but paying a catcher over 30 a lot of money is risky.
Makes excuses when he blows a save, throws teammates under the bus, says and does stupid things, got caught having drugs delivered to his house in the mail under his dog's name. Shall I continue?
Jose Abreau signed with the White Sox (6 years/68M) Pitt hoping to resign Marlon Byrd. AJ Burnett may accept the Pirates QO.
Yeah I'm surprised TB picked up the option too. I wonder if DeJesus will end up signing a mult-year deal with a cheaper AAV. Maybe a 2 year deal for 8 or 9 million, something like that.
They signed him to a 2 year deal....terms not announced yet.....they just had to exercise the option or not by a certain point...
Wonder if the DeJesus signing marks the end of the Matt Joyce in TB Era, as both guys are LHH platoon players but DeJesus at least gives you defense and speed.
