Is picking us to win. I picked out that passage because it just shows you that Bostonians are awful, awful sports fans. And you thought the "Woe is us" garbage was bad here......
so delicious. Your wording sir is nothing short of orgasmic. "Hall of Fame mouth breathing Dip****" BRAVO
Pretty funny... Since he didn't list him: Player T: 1,577 yards, 60.7% comp, 7.20 YPA, 9/7 TD/INT, 83.1 rating, 38.6 QBR, ???? DVOA
Guess Welker wasn't "just a guy" and "anyone decent could fill his role" or the other nonsense that I've been hearing/reading, here and elsewhere. Its so obvious they miss him, they can't move the chains, Brady's comp percentage is crap and defenses are simply stopping them. Not resigning Welker was maybe the dumbest move since the free agency era began. He didn't sign for that much, they made a conference competitor even harder to beat and they are hurting without him. Guess letting a HOF player walk for a modest contract and figuring you could just fill that void wasn't a great idea was it Bill? Delicious. **** that team we should be taking the division this year.
That guy would totally give the city of Boston a Rusty Trombone Rimjob if it were possible. That said, this is a full-on Jinx.
I honestly don't have a problem with Simmons, we have our version of him in LeBatard and I like when LeBatard goes full homer and starts doing those playoff rants for the Heat.
Actually I think far worse, but definitely shows that Bill is not even close to flawless. For the money Denver paid him, freaking crazy dumb move.
Thats the thing, I mean if he got a 20 million dollar a year contract you obviously let him walk, but his contract demands were modest and reasonable. Have to wonder if there was something personal involved and why exactly didn't that idiot Brady demand that they keep Welker? Seems like everyone kind of assumed he was a goner, have to wonder why.
Didn't Brady restructure, reported at the time that it was pretty much to make sure the Pats had enough room to make sure Welker came back? I think it was front office motivated. Bits like him poking fun at Rex Ryan's foot fetish may have gotten him on the wrong side of Bellicheat. Never been a huge fan of his game - still feel he is very complementary (to Moss, then Gronk, now D. Thomas) - but yeah it is obvious they are struggling without him atm. Brady is clearly starting to trend downward though, which is a major issue. The Pats have been propping themselves up for a few years now, but the house of cards will come down soon.
Rumor was that Brady was majorly pissed. I think Wes got something like $6 million a year? Chump change, but Pats never seem like they want to pay anybody. Hardly anybody.
Yeah I never understood how Brady restructured....then he signed a fairly cheap deal with Denver. Bellicheat might have soured on him, although that press conference with him making fun of Rex Ryan was an alltime classic I was laughing so hard I almost cried when he said that stuff about Rex, it was a riot. But seriously though, they basically gave the Welker deal to an always injured WR that has never been as good as Welker. I think anyone that can't see how seriously hard they miss him is blind. They miss long drives, easy conversions of 3rd and 7's, etc. Its nuts that they let him go and I think the press kind of just assumes the Pats will always reload and that Bellicheat is always a genius with a plan when in fact this was just a terrible move that will keep them at home watching the Superbowl. Brady honestly looks lost and I don't know if its age or Welker or what but he's lost.
Brady has definitely gotten less accurate the further he throws it. Having Wes as that short range security guy was important, and only getting even more important this year. Amendola has been a very poor substitute.
It's amazing how Belichick offered a poison pill contract to get Welker in the first place, then just let him walk.
I think this is one instance where Belicheats ego got the best of him. Between the Rex Ryan stuff and the drop in the Superbowl I think Belicheat started to think he would be just fine without him. Now having to win an away game against Denver to make another Superbowl seems pretty damn hard.
