I literally jumped out of my chair when he did that! I hit the replay button as fast as I could to make sure he was touched before doing that. I would have to think that someone has a little talk with him about that. I could only imagine the mess it would have been if he was not touched. I had my heart in my mouth the entire time

    Was he touched?

I thought he just gave himself up, but still..dumb dumb move.

Don't want to make the highlight reel of the stupids

He was touched. In fact, he was accidently kicked.

Looked like he dived forward untouched got up and tossed the ball into the EZ.

Even touched, he should be more careful

I bolted up but a quick replay showed the db's leg and foot touch him.

He was touched for sure but BARELY. All I could think of was Plaxico Burress. Could you just imagine if we had lost the game on that? Clay is really starting to play with some confidence...but that was scary

He should have kept running. On the replay they showed him roll into one DB's legs and caused the DB to flip over him.

But, the way Myers put it, even if he wasn't touched, since he gave himself up on the play that would not have been a turnover, would it?

Even so, he should have gotten up and run into the end zone and be much more careful as CK notes.

I nearly had a heart attack about 4-5 times during the game... yeah, that was one of them.

He wasn't barely touched. He was touched so quickly that it look like he might of not been touched. A guy was running at him at a good speed and tripped over him.

Pretty sure the tackler basically tripped over him. Even then, the whistle was blown basically immediately.

Did they show a replay on the Brandon Gibson catch? That very much looked like he extended the ball over the goal line.

I was at the game and I was panicked for a brief moment wondering ,"WTF did he just do?!?!?" but no one else ever reacted to anything so I thought it was just me...

THAT was an incredible play, one handed the ball, then pulled it back in, serious body control and situational awareness

Yes, they have a shot straight down the line. His extension was short. They spotted it just where he extended to.

I heard the whistle right away..so I knew that if he had done that, they weren't gonna take the ball away.

Yeah I did. At first I thought he hadn't been touched and screamed for him to get up, then he put the ball down and I freaked, was trying to tell the other players to get the ball because they could obviously hear me through the TV.

I had to watch the game on NFL Rewind, so I had it on condensed setting (whole game, every play, 35-40 minutes total) so there wasn't a whole lot of time between the end and the next play where we still had it. Had I watched it live or full broadcast recording, I'd probably be dead.

I don't know if that would have mattered just because didn't Tanny's lost fumble last week was whistled down but the refs still gave the Colts the ball?

Yes and yes... I challenge anyone to find three plays so dramatic in succession... actually four although I don't think they were in a row... well five damnit...

Lamar Miller drop... damn near hurt myself on that one...
Brandon Gibson for the first down on third down, he's knocked backwards, yet has enough awareness to get the first down anyway
Charles Clay down the seam, is he touched or not, flips the ball onto the ground, two players go fighting for it...no worries...
Brandon Gibson again, stretching the ball out near the goal line with one hand, sees the defender coming to knock it out, knows he isn't going to get the TD, and brings it back to his body
And then the one handed touchdown by Dion Sims, beautiful pass by Tannehill... one handed...

Seriously, those five plays should all end up on a highlight reel somewhere. That was our Dolphins wasn't it? Craziness...

He made the 1st down distance twice on that play. I'm wondering if he had not gotten it the 2nd time, if they would have given him forward progress from where he got knocked back. I think they should have, probably would have, but since he got it again before going out of bounds, we'll never know.

The Clay play freaked me out too. I was yelling for him to get up and run into the end zone, and then he just tosses the ball away. I guess the ref blew the whistle and you couldnt hear it on TV, but still. FAR too loose. Don't do anything that could be taken the wrong way there. Hug the ball until the play is clearly over. I totally dont get this new trend of players treating the ball as if its poison as soon as they've made a big run or catch.

So was I. I didn't realize my emotions could change so drastically in a split second from the thrill of Tannehill's throw to Clay to the heart-sinking feeling that he just gave up the ball.

He must have known he was touched though because he was pretty nonchalant about it.

Yes that was very stupid. Receivers always seem to drop balls to fast in this league(after the catch,) even in the Endzone. Lets not forget the Jackson debacle for Philly one yard out.

Maybe it was the angle of where I was sitting in the stands, or me just being so stoked at the catch i couldn't contain my crazy, but this wasn't something I even noticed when it happened. I only learned about it reading here. After re watching it I can say it was very dumb.

They did, and he didn't. He put it out every so briefly and that rightfully so, pulled it right back in. There was a defender's hand just inches from the ball trying to swipe it from his blindside.

Was that a drop? I thought on replay it showed the ball being deflected off the defenders hands and over Miller's.
