Wow, I surely didn't see this coming, could this kid of been a sleeping weapon who just needs to understand his responsibilities before the light goes on?, well, he sure looked different in that brown game from a quickness standpoint, that catch he made from Ryan where Ryan threw a bullet and he snatched it was something that was impressive, of course his game against the colts, his balance to keep his feet on the big play..

Now that he has put this stuff on tape, defensive coordinators will have to account for him, can't wait to see what he does this week..

    Really excited from Cambells comments.

Sometimes I swear we have to disregard what these coaches say about guys. You know, Legedu Naanee gets praised to death until he's cut. Last week Mike Sherman is publicly saying that Charles Clay probably got too many snaps against the Browns and they're going to need to dial that down. This week, Dan Campbell thinks Charles Clay is the next Tony Romo.

Still can't believe he caught that laser from Tanny. Thought it was going to take his head off.

I'll believe he's special when he irons out the inconsistencies, both mentally and physically.

I don't think it's common amongst our coaches to be handing out compliments to that degree..I've never heard any of them actually speak in those terms for any players.

I seem to remember last year Sherman talking about how All-Pro good John Jerry could be. Or was that Ireland?

That was his oline coach turner...

Either way, a coach doesn't throw out superlatives like that unless he's thought about it while watching the player, his comments about how one would be hard pressed to find a similar skillset means he believes that the player has the potential to be that good..
Now is Cambell a skilled talent evaluator, maybe not, but when you watch a guy in practice for two years, and come to those conclusions, I'm gonna be excited about it, and question my own impressions in this case.

Well, still doesn't mean he can't be "All Pro Good"...just means he's not there yet...

Same with Clay...if he makes these catches more often and does the things he's asked to do consistently, he can be scary good. But he has to do it more consistently first... Something we haven't seen yet...

It seems common for that particular coach. Well, whenever he's given a microphone, which is rare.

Relative to what we've seen thru the first two games, and clays hi YPC, and these comments from his position coach, you don't think we should rethink this kids ceiling?

The only comment I heard from Cambell was about Devlin, these were some specific adjectives about one of his guys.

I can see that. He's more likely to talk about Egnew as being capable of things no one in the league has ever seen before, getting himself excited, than he is to show the same level of excitement if asked about Tony Gonzalez.

He's a coach, through and through. Loves his own guys. Sees the best in them. Their potential.

I wouldn;t want it any other way. But yeah, maybe we don't take his viewpoint as balanced and objective.

Sherman acknowledges the passing talents of clay but says that they challenged his blocking this week and responded..

If Clay doesn't step up and take the defender comin thru the a gap, the TD to Wallace doesn't happen.

Sherman says in the past Clay was not sure of his responsibilities, there was hesitation in his game..

He also says we will be seeing more of him as a runner..

Blocker, pass catcher, h- back, runner, pass blocker...has to know the whole offense, maybe like Sherman said, he's now coming into his own..

Clay can be the most versatile player the Dolphins have had since Jim Jensen.

What I think is Charles Clay had a good game, maybe his first real good game on an absolute basis since his becoming a pro football player, and perhaps we might be guilty of running away with that first time success. That's what I think.

A week ago this guy was costing the offense nearly as much yardage via penalties as he was gaining with catches, and his offensive coordinator was talking about how they gave him too many snaps and they need to have Dion Sims take some of his snaps.

Wasn't just Omar. I specifically remember praise coming from both Joe Philbin and Mike Sherman about Naanee, only weeks before he was cut.

People have a very selective memory when it comes to Naanee.

He was drawing a lot of praise from a lot of people at camp.

He looks shorter than Keller and that's because his lower body is very stout, with a long torso, great ***..well developed and strong..

I think people have a telephone memory when it comes to Naanee, as the longer it is since then, the greater the praise everyone had of him.

I saw the same mistakes in cleveland but I also saw a different speed and some other things in that brown game that I hadn't seen before, I said after the that game it looked like he visibly turned a corner, and then he comes back with his best game as a pro..

Dan Cambell is earning a lot of respect as a coach, when he uses the word "special" and goes out of his way to tell reporters to try and find a more unique skillset, I'm not gonna dust it off to coaches speak..

If this were Kevin Coyle I would understand, he praises high..

Last week's statements from team/coaches, "we're not going to force the ball to Wallace," "we played Clay too much."

Game 2, completely opposite, 2 very crucial players to the enjoyed success...pattern?

Clay is such a secret weapon, coach Philbin is not aware of his greatness. He had a good game last week,I hope he does it again but I'm not sure that he makes it Canton for his yellow blazer yet.

Charles Clay is a much better fullback or H-Back than most tight ends in the league, he's one of the few with rushing experience, and while he isn't great he's much better than 85% of his weight class when it comes to in-line blocking. That's pretty unique.

I don't know about y'all, and call me what you want, but Dan Cambell doesn't strike me as a guy who speaks out his *** or props someone up out of homerism..

hell I thought the guy was kinda stiff and couldn't separate very well, time to look closer, cause that's not what he displayed the first two weeks.

This guy Campbell also said we're the worst of the 2-0 teams...I guess that quality win for KC over Jacksonville carries some heavy weight.

I wonder if we'll be the worst 3-0 also next week?

Edit: My bad...DAVE Campbell said that.
