The other day I was trying to figure out which animals had the most mascots in the NFL. Right off, I figured it had to be between a type of bird or a type of cat. It didnt take long before I realized that it was a type of human which has the most in the NFL. I then started to wonder if there were more humans than animals, and thats where Im stumped....

    here we go:

Animals = dolphins, bengals, ravens, bears, lions, falcons, colts, panthers, jags, giants, eagles, broncos, cardinals, seahawks, rams = 15

people = vikings, steelers, texans, saints, titans, bucs, cowboys, giants, pats, redskins, cheifs, 49ers, raiders = 13

    Non living = Jets

that leaves: The browns, The packers, the Bills, and the chargers that Im not sure about...

The browns I always thought of dogs, but then I hear its named after the owner,...The bills I though of buffalo, but is a Bill really a buffalo, or is it named after buffalo bill? chargers and packers, are they machines or types of workers or people?

Kinda curious how it sorts out and who will win out....humans or animals, for the most types of mascots in the NFL.

Packers are people (meat packers, parcel packers, etc - which was industry in area at the time of the clubs founding) much like Steelers for Pitt area, they are people side.

Buffalo Bill Cody was person....logo is animal....at worst its 50/50 split

Browns are named after Paul Brown...a person.

Chargers are vague, but could be person in the spirit of Steelers or Packers....but not sure if SD community is huge in power/electricity..LOL (maybe Credit Card chargers..ahahaha)

Well I worded the question a little wrong, I was going for the team names representing an animal or person. In that case, humans top out animals in the NFL. I swear I never would have gues that before I started thinking about it the other day LOL!!

I was thinking that the Charger in question was a type of horse.

Here's an interesting tidbit about the Chargers.

Edit: A male bison might be called a billy. Just like a goat.

The Browns are named after Mike Brown, but their mascot is an elf thing.

Good spot! so heres how it stands now....

Animals = dolphins, bengals, ravens, bears, lions, falcons, colts, panthers, jags, eagles, broncos, cardinals, seahawks, rams = 14

people = vikings, steelers, texans, saints, titans, bucs, cowboys, giants, pats, redskins, cheifs, 49ers, raiders, browns, packers, bills, chargers = 17

    Non living = Jets

It seems like there might be a little question on the chargers still. If they were called chargers because the owner liked the way they yelled "charge" at the dodger and trojans games, then a charger would be people charging in to battle, correct?

I say the Titans and Giants should be moved to the non living category. Rather fantasy and mythical and such.
