Ireland wouldn't dare speak one negative word about Bill, he knows if it wasn't for Parcells he would have never became a GM in this league
It's not hard to speak poorly about BP, the man is an idiot when it comes to the front office. Always has been and always will be. I bet you root against this team just to further your Ireland agenda.
I don't know about a rift? They just don't talk and kudos to Ireland for breaking away and doing his own thing.
One of the reasons Parcells liked Ireland was because he wasn't afraid to speak up against him with players, so I find that hard to believe.
I don't think this Is true. At the time we hired Ireland, he was one of the better GM prospects in the league. Hell, Jones didn't want to let him go. He would have eventually found a job as a GM.
Seeing the only person he invited to the ceremony was Dawn Aponte I would say he has more than a rift with just Ireland.
"That way I can retroactovely add their sucess to my legacy, even though I'm an overrated incompetent man titted ****tard"
Surprise surprise look who's eager to jump on that pile again. That's actually complete nonsense. You don't know "Jeffy" very well for being soooo critical. And you continue to ignore that Ross decided to keep Ireland after parcells left, when he cleaned house everywhere else. Or that the guy who gave him his first job as a scout advised Ross to keep him as Gm.
He is touch with Ross and Aponte because they still owe him some money and they write the checks.Ireland does not .
yeah I bet Parcells was beside himself when Ross & Ireland decided to ditch his ways and become more transparent as an organization and involved with the media & fan base. I remember reading about Channing Crowder mentioning how Parcells tried to mold Ireland into a version of himself but that it wasn't working and made Ireland seem fake b/c his nature and demeanor were too dissimilar from Parcells's.
Don't forget Ireland pulled the douchiest of douche moves when he went to recruit Harbaugh. Let's just hope his picks pan out ok.
Yo I don't know how any dolphin fan could be pissed at our owner for trying to go after Jim fu&'in Harbaugh, don't care who's toes it stepped on, I never hated sparano but I was leading the Harbaugh train, so Parcells can take his political BS and shove it up his fat ***, Sparano showed he couldn't coach in New York last year, what was Parcells gonna do just stick with him, Ross and Ireland made the right decision to fire him, the team was running the asylum.
Tony Sparano was done the moment Chad Henne took the first snap in training camp 2011. The fact that they went and trotted out Henne as the starter again after his awful 2010 season was an absolute joke.
Yup it's so douchey looking after the best interest of a billion dollar organization that a cruddy losing HC was running into the ground. Sparano made his own bed but was paid handsomely for it so please spare the boo-hoo fest for the guy who couldn't even hack it as an OC and is now back working with offensive linemen.
I agree that Sparano was a dead duck that season, but really, who else was playing QB? At the time Moore was still relatively unknown and Henne had shown flashes here and there. I actually thought Henne played a bit better before getting injured. As far as Parcells, I think we all need to just let it go. What he did was certainly slimy but it's over with. Right now we have a team that could possibly be a force for the first time in a long, long time. Let's focus on that.
Parcells might have quit in Miami but that doesn't change the fact that he's going into the hall of fame as a coach and it's well deserved, and his coaching tree is one of the most impressive ever in sports.
Two points. 1. As best pointed out by Desides...the idea of Bill Parcells being mad at someone for 'betraying' someone else is.....DELICIOSOLOLOLOLOL! 2. At the same time I do find it interesting he professes love and respect for Steve Ross, admits he's still in touch with Sparano, and indicates he's in the middle of a spat with Ireland. He mentioned before that one problem when he left is all three parties (understandably) wanted to make their own mark on the franchise. Sounds like he understood why Steve Ross would pursue Jim Harbaugh, but he saw Jeff Ireland's going along with him as a betrayal to Sparano.
I think anyone that still thinks Ireland wasn't being forced to follow Parcell's blueprint, clearly has a bitter agenda. This offseason and last prove it, but news of this spat further solidify it.
Yeah really, Ross was the one hunting down harbaugh... What was Ireland supposed to do ? Refuse & Resign ? Youd think the rift stems from something else, like Jeff having to clean up Tunas mess, after he bailed on everybody.
Exactly. Which sounds more likely? a)- Parcells is mad at Ireland because Ireland couldn't stop his own boss from doing something that happens in the real world all the time. OR b)- Parcells is mad at Ireland because Ireland wanted to ditch Parcells hand-picked head coach and go 180º from Parcells blueprint Anyone selling A at this point is pushing a bitter agenda.
He's going to the HOF because of his prowess as a coach of the Giants and maybe the pasties...since then, he's been a failure wherever he's been. If you don't believe me, ask Tampa....
Cronyism is rampant in the NFL. I'd think it's a safe bet that all GM's owe their success to someone who mentored/befriended them. At this point, hating on Ireland is foolish. Sure he's had some misses, who hasn't, but his greatest enemies since joining the Dolphins has been BP and a lack of good coaching. BP is gone and hopefully Philbin will solve the coaching problem.
I still have a lot of respect for Bill P even though he did fail here. I believe that the game he believes in is not the same game as today's NFL. Today's game is passing and that wasn't BP style. I think Jeff I "gets it" as far as today's game.
Parcells did a good job with the Jets, he took them to the AFC championship and won 8 games with Ray Lucas. His final draft with the Jets was also pretty damn good.
You can ***** and moan all you want as Parcells did us no favors, the game has clearly passed him by. But you can not deny Parcells' accomplishment's prior to coming here nor that he doesn't belong in the HOF. And frankly, he has nothing to do with the Dolphins organization and we need to let bygones be bygones.
How convenient...if Ireland missed on someone, it's not really his fault because he was scouting for a flawed system...and if he actually got a good player, major props to him for succeeding despite the unfavorable circumstances. Brilliant argument.
Even if this were true, which it's not, it's irrelevant. Honestly you sound like a bitter ex. He was a failure in Miami but really so was everyone.
I understand BP not liking the Sparano treatment. It was embarrassing. At the same time, BP is a hot-tempered, prideful man who needs some humility. If he had integrity, assuming the Harbaugh issue was the problem he had with Ireland, he should simply express his displeasure with JI and then continue on. BP is a lot like his friend Bobby Knight, who for several years would not talk to coach K - in large part b/c K beat him in the '92 semis. At least Knight and K are back on as close friends. Don't know how BP will do with all that. He could be a bigger man and show generosity. I suspect he won't.
talk about not wanting to be here...no way a team can function properly. I'm absolutely on Ireland's side in this, took some fu&$in balls to go up against this phoney, if he pulls it off he can pull out his dong and wave it around.. Great story if it plays out..direction looks good, Philbin leading the charge.
