First off, thank you all for participating in the GM League this year. The amount of participation we had this year was head and shoulders above the past years with 29 GMs submitting a final roster. The rookies we had this year were fantastic and I thought they all caught up real quickly and did a great job. Special thanks for Mach for helping me with this as well as figuring out the salaries of all the players. If this place were smart, they'd get him to be the forum's capologist... A big thanks to all the people who helped update the free agency as well as cleaning up any trouble that may have occurred. Also thank you to Coke Zero for being the first ever GML sponsor apparently. Without further ado, here are the voting results.

    GM of the Year
    Bdogtitan11, UCFINatic, & AshyLarry - Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars GMs took arguably the worst team in the NFL and turned them into a contender. Chad Henne and Blaine Gabbert into Matt Ryan, an injury-prone MJD into a promising second year running back in Doug Martin, replacing Justin Blackmon with Stevie Johnson and Brian Hartline to form a dynamic trio when adding Cecil Shorts to the mix. The offensive line is solid from left to right: Duane Brown, Chris Kuper, Dan Koppen, Willie Colon, and Gosder Cherilus. They turned the Jaguars defense into a promising 3-4 nightmare. With Ndamukong Suh, Ryan Pickett, and Red Bryant clogging the line up front helping Anthony Spencer and Shaun Phillips wreck havoc in the backfield. The inside linebackers may be young but when you have two of the most promising inside linebackers that the draft has to offer in Kevin Minter and Arthur Brown... things could be worse. To cap off their defense is a strong secondary consisting of Ladarius Webb, Chris Harris Jr, Thomas Decoud, and Major Wright. Overall there isn't another team that deserves this award than the Jaguars so congratulations to the three of you!

    GM of the Year Standings
    1. Jacksonville Jaguars - 29 points
    2. Miami Dolphins - 19 points
    3. Cincinnati Bengals - 17 points
    4. Seattle Seahawks - 16 points
    5. Green Bay Packers - 7 points
    6. Tennesee Titans - 6 points
    7. Indianapolis Colts - 5 points
    8. St. Louis Rams - 4 points
    8t. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4 points
    10t. New York Jets - 3 points
    10t. San Francisco 49ers - 3 points
    12. Pittsburgh Steelers - 2 points
    13t. Carolina Panthers - 1 point
    13t. Philadelphia Eagles - 1 point
    13t. New York Giants - 1 point
    13t. Arizona Cardinals - 1 point

    Team on the Rise
    Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars have acquired a lot of young talent on offense and defense. When you have a young franchise quarterback like Matt Ryan on the team, it's easy to see that they can only continue to get better from here.

    Team Built for Now
    Houston Texans
The Texans window is somewhat small with Peyton Manning approaching the big 4-0 however you can't say he won't have help in Houston. Andre Johnson, Justin Blackmon, and Brandon Stokley will look to make life easy for #18.

Free Agent Steal of the Year
Cary Williams, CB - $2.0M - Houston Texans
There is no reason that Cary Williams went for $2,000,000.00 when players who shouldn't even be starting are going for nearly $5,000,000.00. This is easily the biggest steal in free agency, hands down.

    Draft Steal of the Year
DJ Hayden, CB, Houston (Miami Dolphins)
Many felt the Dolphins made a great pick in the third round when they selected DJ Hayden. When the GML draft occurred, many experts felt Hayden was a likely day two pick however the NFL disagreed as he went in the top fifteen in the NFL Draft.

    Trade of the Year
Jacksonville Jaguars & Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan/Tom Brady Trade
This was the trade that changed the outlook on these two teams. Atlanta is clearly in win now mode by adding the best quarterback in the NFL at the ripe age of 35 and Jacksonville gives themselves an extra 5-10 years of great quarterback play.

    Best in Trades
    Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville was wheeling and dealing all the time and when you look at where they started and how they finished, it's easy to see why they won this award handily.

    Best in Free Agency
    Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers had a plan and they stuck with it. While many disagreed with trading Ben Roethlisberger to move up to select Dee Milliner, you cannot argue their free agency success. Jake Long, Louis Delmas, Paul Kruger, and many more big names are now in the Steel City.

    Best in Draft
    Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins were money in rounds two through four. Justin Hunter (2), Jamar Taylor (2), Kiko Alonso (3), and Le'Veon Bell (4) went in round two in the NFL and they snagged GML Draft Steal of the Year, DJ Hayden, in round three.

    Feud of the Year
    VanDolphan vs Vengeful Odin
I think it's safe to say that this feud won handily for good reason. Someone was a little tired of how the Bills GM was doing his business and that someone was the Vikings GM. Good thing they only see each other once every four years.

    Most Improved GM
    Sean
Sean won a lot of trades this year and it's easy to see why he was voted Most Improved GM. He seemed to have a plan in place and stuck with it, which is always a better idea than winging it.

    Rookie GM of the Year
    Die Nasty
A lot of rookies did a great job this year but the Titans GM took the cake with his ability to win in all phases: Trades, Free Agency, and the Draft. He nearly won Best Draft so it is telling how well he did a first year GM.

    Best Offense
    Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals offense is very dynamic with a plethora of playmakers. Their offensive line isn't as good as some of the others however it's good enough to protect Andy Dalton long enough to make a play. This will be a team to beat in the AFC.

    Best Defense
    Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins didn't make a ton of flashy moves on defense but it's their overall depth that makes them the best defense. Most defenses have one small weakness but you can't say that Miami has any glaring holes anywhere on this side of the ball.

    Best Offensive Weapons (RB/WR/TE)
    Cincinnati Bengals
This is a no brainer. Ray Rice. Brandon Marshall. Demaryius Thomas. Stedman Bailey. Jermaine Gresham. Martellus Bennett. I'm pretty sure even a Division 3 college quarterback could lead this offense to the playoffs.

    Best Offensive Line
    Green Bay Packers
The Packers went from seeing their offensive line be a weakness to a true strength. Adding arguably the best left tackle in the NFL as well as blue chip prospect in Jonathan Cooper made this an easy choice.

    Best Front Seven
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have a lot of pieces on their front seven that could make them a very scary team. Their linebackers look beastly with Jarvis Jones, DeMeco Ryans, and Lavonte David and when you add in their pass rushers and overall depth: Simply outstanding.

    Best Secondary
    Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles brought in the best cornerback tandem in the NFL and a very strong nickel cornerback. Their safeties are excellent as well with Kenny Phillips and Kam Chancellor manning the two deep coverage.

Seriously, the retention and participation was superb this year. As I said in the vote thread, the rookie class was phenomenal, and part of that goes back to getting people in here who know their team. I don't have hard data handy but this has to be the best retention and voter turnout in a while, which I know some expected the opposite. You guys were amazing all around from vets to rooks.

And to return Griddles' reach around, as always, he deserves a hand for the sheer amount of organization that goes into this thing. The fact he's willing to accept new ideas, to work with people on things and deal with the complaints is nothing short of amazing. Truly blessed to have someone put this much effort into something for fun without it devolving into a giant unorganized mess.

Also, Coke Zero. We need more funding.

Thanks to all those who voted for me. Honored to get GM of the Year, as I know there's always a talented and deserving group of GMs to go up against.

Major, major props to GIK and all the mods who make this possible. I know we often note how hard you guys work, but I want to reiterate how much we appreciate it. This league is a ton of fun and it wouldn't be possible without your tireless efforts.

Also thanks to my co-GMs, UCFFinatic and Ashy Larry. Taking over the Jags, I knew it would be a complete tear-down, and the time they put in helping me form a direction and make moves set this team over the top.

The amount of solid teams out there was incredible. I really feel that 4-5 GMs could have easily taken this award. The rookies were sensational too, as they were active from the get go and put together very respectable rosters. Really impressed by a ton of participants this year...and I can't wait to get after it again in 2014!

Best draft was a real toss up.

I feel like Tampa got jilted from best defense contention.

Thanks all for a very fun experience, I suppose I'm going to have to settle for rookie of the year this year.

Everyone was so receptive and did a hell of a job this year. It's great to win rookie of the year in a year with so many great rookies.

I'll be back next year and shooting for GM of the year.

Great year makes offseeason fun appreciate all the efffort put in to run it. Thank you

For those that didnt like the Roethlisberger trade, neither did I but without it I dont win Best in FA cause I dont have the cap room. That trade saved me 30 mil in cap space. when cash strapped, hard decisions have to be made.

But I feel like this year was my best year, teams didnt drop out, draft ran smooth. Fun year

You mean he's always waving around his 'little Favre'?

I had a lot of fun. Amped up a personality, played fast and loose (I mean how many trades did I make with people that took all of 2 PM's and done? ;p) with a piss poor Bills roster.

Hopefully I'll have the time to do it again. Hell if I'm still on night shifts...probably.

Don't worry he can win all the awards including most improved GM next year as well, because really that's the one that has really alluded him over the years.

I think Sean is the only two time winner of that award. I'm not sure there has been a two time GMOTY winner, but I think one person has...

Give it a year and we'll see who the real winners are.

Agreed! But hey i walked away with best front 7, so im pretty happy about that. Not to shabby for a rookie. Had my eye on rookie gm of the year as well and i think i finished like 4th(out of 6) for that, but somehow got a couple 2nd place votes for gm of the year lol either way had a great time and im really looking forward to next season. Thanks for haven me fellas!!

Pretty sure I won 2009 when I took over the Houston Texans.

It's funny seeing how certain GM's usually corner the market in certain categories, or have won a certain award multiple times.

Yeah I still haven't been able to come up with the 2009 GMOTY, but sports24/7 won 2008 Draft Steal of the Year with Jerod Mayo at RD2 (#45)
