Please post up to three nominations for the following categories. I will use my best judgment to come with five finalists for each category (except Rookie GM of the Year, all rookie GMs will be deemed finalists). Because I will be the final decision on the finalists, I won't nominate anyone unless it is solely to get us up to 5 nominations. You cannot nominate yourself.

Nominations end on May 7th at 11:59PM EST. Final Voting will begin on May 8th at 12:01AM EST (or shortly after).

If a player/team that you wish to nominate has already been nominated... please nominate that team/player again. I will cut the finalists down to five and if a team/player has multiple nominations, it will be easier to whittle down to five.

    BEST OF CATEGORIES

    Team on the Rise
    – Dolphins, Eagles, Seattle (can win now, but I place them here because youth/long-term sustainability)

    Team Built for Now
    – Houston, Carolina, Green Bay

    Trade of the Year

    1. Packers get Chard Greenway, a 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] and a 4[SUP]th[/SUP] for Morgan Burnett and a 6[SUP]th[/SUP]. – Steal here for the Packs in what was a solid offseason of trades for them. They get a starting LB for a starting S, and add two starters through draft picks.

    2. Texans acquire QB Peyton Manning, TE Jacob Tamme and 3.95 for QB Matt Schaub, CB Kareem Jackson, TE Owen Daniels, 4.124, 7.219 – Certainly not lopsided, but Houston managed to add an elite QB, which could push them over the top.

    3. St. Louis acquires Kirk Cousins for a 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] – Sneaky good trade. Is Cousins a franchise guy? Who knows, but the fact that he outperformed his 3[SUP]rd[/SUP]-round billing when giving the opportunity as a rookie indicates he has that potential. Great value here by the Rams.

I just wanted to say that the rookie GM class this year was probably the strongest group we've had since I've been doing this. I wanted to thank each and every one of you for helping make this such a great year from a participation stand point. Hope to see you all back next year!!

In no particular order... so this is not indicative of my final voting. :shifty:

Why are people nominating themselves when it says you CANNOT nominate yourself?

You can vote for yourself yeah, but not nominate.

This is just me, I don't think people should be allowed to vote for themselves either.

If your peers nominate you then I think you have the right to vote for yourself, IMO.

Obviously you cannot vote for yourself in the GM of the Year award but the Best-Of Categories are just glorified participation ribbons.

And I haven't been tallying the self-nominations thus far so it's not going to make a difference whether people nominate themselves anyways.

I think voting for best of should be a cleaner process. Its all over the place and some gm don't even vote for certain categories. I believe part of it is no one is actually looking at the final rosters.

Aside from forcing people to sit down and read over every person's final roster... I don't know what else to do.

We can try judges again but that didn't work out very well last time.

With some of the nominations for best secondary theyre definitely not looking at safeties. I wont say who but at least 2 teams have safeties starting for them who were backups for my teams the last 2 years.

What about when we submit the final roster we also submit along with it what categories we should be nominated for and give a reason that way its not a total cluster ****.

Any nomination that isn't Washington should be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm always a stickler for the rules, see the case of Barry Coefield and Philadelphia.

There is no loophole for me to work with. It is clearly open and shut... like your mouth!

But is selling everyone else on an idea simply making it a matter of who states a better case for their team? Cause I can do that right now.

Well its all up for interpretation. Could always skip making a case and just say what Nominations you want to be up for. At least it could help eliminate teams.

Obviously the idea is not perfect but there has to be a better way to handle the noms.
