You know what would make you puke more? If you saw Tannehill on the field with a broken leg because you never brought in a guy to protect him.

Plenty of tackles in this draft. You draft Fluker you still have a gaping hole at LT... You solve nothing other than having Martin and Fluker both vying to play RT. Fluker might be the best RT in this draft but you don't waste an early round pick on a RT. This isn't helping Tannehill. Getting Eifert would benefit Tannehill more than Fluker.

Refer to Sean with that argument then. I still think the tackle position needs to be addressed if Albert is not brought it. DJ Fluker at 12 is high and I would consider it a reach but I'm not too sure who else would be an option early in rounds 1 and 2 who could start right away.

So who is protecting Tannehill in your scenario? Certainly not a guy who is slow in to his set and doesnt have a great kick out. Fluker is a RT, and a good one but you dont take RT at 12. Sorry. Trade down, trade up in round 2, do something, anything but that. Shoot, you may as well take a kicker.

Martin is a LT. His agility is too good to be wasted at RT and he doesnt have the traditional strength to play a power tackle position. That boy needs to be locked in a weight room til he comes out of there looking like a man ready to play LT. Giving up on him too soon. Duane Brown was just as terrible as a rookie, now hes a very good LT. Jon Martin will end up the same imo.

Fluker doesn't fit the system Miami runs so that will never happen.

I share the same opinion, I think Martin could be placed at LT, but that's just me. Put Fluker at RT.

I'd rather trade back into the first for Pugh or Watson. Or hope one drops to us in the second. Fluker is probably the worst case scenario for our 12 pick IMO. No thanks

I just dont think you draft RT's at 12 nor do i think hes worth the 12th pick.

    Top 5 choices:
    Eifert
    Trufant
    Patterson
    Austin
    Milliner

    Also acceptable:
    Werner
Vacarro (preferably in a slight move down)

But you can find a RT later in the draft. I'd rather get an elite DT prospect like Richardson or Sylvester Williams.

I really want to play Jon Martin at LT give him a shot.

I was looking at 1 mock today had Fluker going to the Bengals to replace the loss of Andre Smith. I just can't comprehend it. So you don't resign a pretty good RT so in stead you SPEND A FIRST on his replacement that may or may not be better than him? Words truly escape me how someone can rationalize that.

for me I wouldn't spend a first round pick on strictly a RT. 1st round pick you either get some talent on the skill positions, BPA, or trade down and acquire more picks next season.

I would agree because Smith is still a FA. The Dolphins have no other choice since Jake Long signed with the Rams. Now there's a hole there. It's either Albert or a high draft pick on a tackle. Didn't release I was going to get crucified over one draft projection lol

Well we do have Martin so we have some leverage. Could always trade back up for Watson or Armstead. Or if they feel Martin can play LT draft a RT later.

Just trying to persuade you why Fluker would be a bad choice for Miami. I'd rather have Cooper at 12.

There's no hole at LT. Martin is fine. It's his more natural position. We also have a secret backup plan named Will Yeatman. Lets revisit history because it's worth doing... Martin's first two games starting at LT last year after Long went down. Any non Dolfan remember who they were against? For that matter... any Dolfan remember? Patriots and 49ers. Dolphins were within 7 points late in the fourth quarter against both teams. Close in both games with the level of offensive skill players we had last year? Fastforward to this year. We've added some much needed skill to the offense. I think we'll be okay with Martin at LT. Doesn't mean we're not going to trade up for Lane Johnson or trade for Albert. I wouldn't be surprised by that. It's not what I would do though.

I said in a previous post that I think Martin should be fine at LT. I ment that there is now a hole on the offensive line.

Studies have shown RT's are nearly as important as LTs now due to different types of pressures and such. The NFL at large still hasn't caught up to it, so it's a mixed bag. You do need a RT, they are extremely important, but due to the way they are still devalued, you should be able to nab one later on.

Did pretty bad this year. I think I had about 10 picks right last year. This draft class was a lot harder this year... I had a handful of guys in the right range though.
