Figured we could use one whether we are talking about bicycles, sneakers, wraps...what have you.

Reason I started this now, because I just picked up wrestling shoes to weight train in. I used to train in running shoes, but noticed that the cushiony soles are being compressed too much and proving unstable when I do the heavy compound moves...especially squats/deadlifts. I picked up Dan Gables. Two reasons, 1. they are well reviewed, as well made and thus should last. 2. They almost kinda look like regular sneakers.

anyone else lift in specific types of shoes. i know chuck taylors are popular too, but i'll take the extra ankle support where i can get it.

Really? Looking in the window I just thought you were naturally hairy?

Just sweat shirts and tank tops, the sweats just make me feel like I'm working harder.

i workout in under armour compression shirts underneath a sweatshirt. i like to stay warm when training, and that does the trick.

I was on kickstarter and found this fitness apparel and I was thoroughly impressed. Check it out if you are an enthusiast.

Did we have this conversation before? I know where people's pizza is. Do you lift at LA fitness? I used to years ago back when my office was in cherry hill. Pretty nice facility.

Yeah when I first joined the site. I trained at a couple gyms around here when i first moved up From FL. I cant stand gyms to be honest. I train in my basement now. Bought a power rack, irons and bumpers, a couple benches and built a deadlift platform. I can use chalk, slam weights, stink the joint up if I want, blast Rammstein and Megaherz on my stereo and never have to worry about being thrown out or having a "lunk" alarm go off.

Exactly, the only gym I've ever joined was 20 bucks a month, hardcore, do what you want as long as it is safe type of place.

Cannot stand the sort of sterile, girly man types of gyms.

I bought some locally from a guy I found on cragslist for cash (around $1/lb if I remember right) and the rest from bumperplates.com (Econo Series). I bought a Texas Power bar from the local guy, that was maybe $160-180 IIRC. The local guy's prices were great because it was all cash and carry. At the time he was just starting up his business outfitting Crossfit studios. I got my power cage, flat bench and GHR from him too, all cash at ridiculous prices, like 50-60% retail. I got lucky. The bar/bumpers are good enough for what I need them for, which is just deadlifting and power cleans. I don't do any olympic lifts.
