Since I have no 1st round picks I am unable to enjoy these mocks folks are doing. I would like to see the best mock of all current Bills picks including basic writeup as to why said player was chosen. The winner will be the person who comes closest to the selection of all current Bills picks (Rounds 2 thru 6). In the event of trades on draft day I will still only account for the first 8 players chosen. The winner will receive a full years access (or extension) to the Club Level here at ThePhins donated by myself. Now I'm guessing the mods here probably get Club Level access as part of the gig....so if a mod wins we will discuss an equivalent $$ wise prize that I can actually deal with online. In the event of a tie I will literally pull a name from a hat. ....and yes...Even Vengeful can play. Good luck! Cut off time will be when the first pick of the draft is made.
So without PFF ratings for upcoming draftee's, you offer out a scouting contract.... clever move, I'll give you that.
I think I did alright for Jacksonville in the Club Level draft last year. Pulled Ballard out of my ***. Jacksonville: 1) MICHAEL FLOYD, WR, NOTRE DAME 43 for 562 and 2 TD's For Cardinals 2) VINNY CURRY, DE, MARSHALL 9 tackles 3) BEN JONES, C, GEORGIA 16G/10G started -5.7 PFF rating Gave up 4 sacks/4hits/13 pressures Very up and down 6 PFF Green Games, 6 PFF Red Games 4) KHEESTON RANDALL, DT, TEXAS 12G = 8 Tackles 5) VICK BALLARD, RB, MISSISSIPPI STATE 211 for 814 yards 3.9 avg 2 Td's 17 Rec for 152 yards 8.9 avg 1 td 6) ALEX HOFFMAN-ELLIS, LB, WASHINGTON STATE Signed 49'ers practice squad. Possibly out of football now 7) MICAH PELLERIN, CB, HAMPTON Practice Squad Bouncin
Post away when ready. Hey if your the only one who does it....easy money ;p Main reason I'm doing it...home from work sick and bored lol.
Bills Mock draft. 2.48-Eric Reid, FS, LSU-You need a safety that isn't afraid of taking risk and making big hits and can cover tight ends. Reid is the best safety on the board that point. 2.56-Khaseem Greene, OLB, Rutgers-Day 1 starter with production. Capable of playing Weakside or Strong side and can hang with tight ends. 2.63-Joesph Randle, RB, Oklahoma St-Bills could use a back with some Power. Randle has a nice blend of speed and power capable of breaking tackles. 3.90-Chase Thomas, OLB, Stanford-Underrated LB with great size and instincts. High motor, capable of changing games. 4.110-Cornelius Washington, DE, Georgia-Really liked what I saw from him in the East West Shrine game. More of a hybrid type player with elite athletism. 4.119-Tharold Simon, CB, LSU-Might be reaching here has he isn't the greatest cover corner but he has great size and thinking he can bully smaller WR unless they get a beat on him. 4.Comp-Hugh Thorton, OL, Illinois-Thorton can play guard or tackle at the next level. Ideally grades out as a better guard but has the skills to play tackle. Displays great power and agility should be a quality back up for whoever. 5.133-Joe Kruger, DE, Utah-Strong bloodlines probably goes higher because of that. Pretty versatile defender gives you flexibility on the line. 6.181-Tyler Bray, QB, Tenn-Developmental QB worth a shot at developing. Lack of small school prospects selected for this for obvious reasons
I'm bored so ill give it a try. Round 2 - Pick 48 - DT Kawann Short, Purdue - Short will be an immediate starter and help solidify the DL Round 2 - Pick 56 - FS DJ Swearinger, South Carolina - After losing Byrd need a starter at FS Round 2 - Pick 63 - WR Robert Woods, USC - Don't have much talent at WR, could be a number of different WR but should select one in 2nd round Round 3 - Pick 90 - OLB Sean Porter, Texas AM - Probably will start day 1 due to lack of alternatives Round 4 - Pick 110 - CB Blidi Wreh-Wilson, UConn - Have a solid threesome, Wreh should round out the position Round 4 - Pick 119 - RB Le'Veon Bell, MSU - Nice power back to complement the 3 speed backs Round 5 - Pick 133 - OT Xavier Nixon, UF - backup swing tackle Round 6 - Pick 181 - LB Travis Long, Washington State - depth pick
Got till 11am tomorrow to get yours in or it looks like Buckeye or UCF here could be in for some easy cash ;p
My reasoning for all of them is you need someone at that position, whether starter or depth. Eric Reid FS Sio Moore OLB John Jenkins DT Stedman Bailey WR Leon McFadden CB Chase Thomas OLB Khaled Holmes OC Jordan Mills OT Sean Renfree QB
I wonder if he had his page up-to date because I only remember 4 WR. If I had to change my Wheaton pick it would probably be Joseph Randle, RB, Oklahoma St. Could use a power back.
Yup good timing to. Had refused to get into the bidding with other WR's that were going off the charts. However, Mach released Bey at a good time when I wasn't planning on any other moves and I still had roughly $7.5 million laying around. I was in bidding for Bey for a while though....at least a couple days before I put this thread up.
Go ahead and change it. I'll be screening everyone's picks just before the draft starts so. There is also the wildcard that I got a 4th round comp pick. I'm not counting it in the 8...........but it could influence who I take from there on out.
Buckeye takes a commanding lead. I wanted to add Greene, but didn't want to copy him any more. A tip of that hat to you, sir.
I was heavily considering the Eric Reid and grab Sio Moore at 63. In fact if someone had grabbed Greene that was probably the way I would have gone.
Ok. I figured I would go with a point selection strategy to weed out any bias. But it completely backfired. This is what I had come up with: 10 points. Dead on Player/Order Selection 7 points. Selected Player/Non Order Selection 4 Points. Position Selected/Order Selection 2 Points. Position Selected/Non Order Selection Sounds great..........except the results. BuckeyeKing 2 10 2 0 0 2 <---Damn close to scoring 4 there 0 0 0 Total: 16 UCFinfan86 2 2 2 2 4 4 0 0 0 Total: 16 Mach: 2 4 2 2 4 0 2 0 0 Total: 16 So you can see.....whoops ;p So what I am going to do is open a poll and let the GML decide the winner.
I protected myself in the original post ;p Polling the GM's should be a little more fair then trusting what name I'd pull out of a hat ;p
And if the GMs tie then it's a hat? Can I make a deal? If I drop out of the race, can you award both ucf and buckeye?
Ok. Will do that. I'll talk to Muck about how to exactly do it all. But congrats to Buckeye and UCF. I'll be adding 6 months to your club level access on my next payday (18th).
