So I'm looking for a new pair of running shoes and went to my usual running store. I get shin splints with alot of the shoes, I usually wear the Brooks Beast shoes, and the guy today recommended the Altra shoes. I read reviews and stuff and they seem well enough but I'm curious if anyone has any experience with these shoes?

No experience with the shoes, but shin splints can be associated with overuse of the legs and/or flat feet. Do you have flat feet? I used to get shin splints a lot and then saw a Podiatrist and got a custom inserts to put into my shoes. They were kind of pricey but should last me a long time and I don't get pains anymore.

I don't have flat feet but I do overpronate. The Brooks shoes do an awesome job of helping me with my shin splints and I'm fine using those still but I do get some pain in the sides of my feet with them.
