    I wonder if his (mostly) failed expedition to the Marianas Trench and all the expense incurred because of that have caused the drop in stock price.

    It doesn't matter if it is Marino, or anyone else. The fact is that any time you make an investment, you are putting this money at risk. Some times you win and some times you lose. If you can't afford to lose the money you invest, you shouldn't be taking the risk.
