I think we'll get two: we'll likely get one MNF game and a Thursday night game. Based on our owner's dislike of hot weather, the MNF game will likely be a home game in the first few weeks versus a division opponent. I say the jets. Let's face it: most people think the Miami Dolphins are a boring team that stinks. We've done nothing to prove them wrong. If anything, trading Brandon Marshall makes us even more boring.
I'm pretty sure everyone gets one this year since there will be a Thursday night game each week from 2 to 15 (except for Thanksgiving, though NBC has that game now I believe), so no reason for zero to be in the poll really.
Stitches is right. Everyone gets at least one because of the new Thursday Night package. I also think we'll get a Monday Night game as well.
Here you go. Have fun editing. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...-to-go-prime-time-in-new-thursday-night-slate
Every team will have at least one primetime game every year from now on with the Thursday Night expansion. We'll probably get one Thursday night game and just one for SNF/MNF. Maybe.
I can't believe no one has said this yet. Every teams gets at least one prime time game due to the NFL's new Thursday night schedule.
As I said in my monster post in the other thread, I think Miami gets three . .. MNF vs. NYJ, TNF vs. JAC, and MNF @ SF. For those that think nobody wants to watch Miami, feast your ears on these memory pops (lame Community reference). Last year the MIA/DAL Thanksgiving game was the highest rated Thanksgiving day game since the 2000 DAL/MIN Randy Moss game. Also, the NE and NYJ MNF games were ranked third and sixth in ratings for ESPN last year. So yes, Miami is still a national draw, they are guaranteed ratings success in prime.
I think....we might see the Joe Philbin....look what he did with Aron Rogerts bounce....they know we wont be a boring team to watch
Not sure which thread to post leak information, so I will post it in both. 1. The first MNF game will be the Bengals @ Ravens, still no word on the west coast half. However, this does blow up my week 1 predictions already. Oh well . . . 2. The Patriots will have four primetime games and open on the road/finish at home. 3. The Saints home games are scheduled for Sept 9, Sept 16, Oct 7, Nov 5, Nov 11, Nov 25, Dec 16, Dec 30 which means they will be on MNF once on Nov. 5. I will try and keep everyone up to date on leaks . . .
Last two seasons we've had two primetime games within the first five weeks, not sure if we'll continue that trend or not this year. Could see a MNF in first four weeks against the Jets and then our Thursday Night game.
Woo hoo, we didn't make the boring list! http://m.nfl.com/news/09000d5d8285ec37/the-teams-we-dont-want-to-see-in-prime-time/
I don't see why Thursday nite games in the NFL network are considered prime time, quite the contrary Imo
I agree that games on the NFL network are not watched on a national level as much as the prime time games on ESPN and on NBC. This basically is due to the fact that the vast majority of TV watchers in America don't have access to the NFL channel. The only reason the games played by NFL on Thursday night on the NFL channel are considered prime time games is because the two teams playing are the only NFL teams in action at that time and the games are being played during the time period considered prime time by all the networks. To me the prime time games are the games played on Sunday and Monday night.
Obviously the NFL isn't expecting much from the Dolphins or the Bills next season, so they threw them both a bone by matching them up on a Thursday night game on the NFL Network. Yet based on how bad the Dolphins record has been the last three seasons, and the fact they have no marquee players or coaches, one prime time game against the lowly Bills is about all fans should expect.
Yeah at least we won't have to suffer another real primetime loss (and the two last year were embarrassing)...we can lose on Thursday night, but far less people are watching. The only primetime wins I can recall since the 2004 orange jersey miracle against NE are the 2009/2010 wins against the Jets.
Prime Time is a specific time of day in which the majority of people will be watching television in the US. That is 8-11 pm I believe and it's everyday.
