Clearly not happy with his contract situation. I mean, it's not like the guy is arguably the Top Pass Rusher in the league and is only making 650,000 this year. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ts-?utm_medium=twitter&utm_source=twitterfeed
Jeff Ireland sucks. Why would he sign such a good player at such a low price. Only a matter of time till he got upset. How could he not see this coming.
I disagree. Why would Ireland try to work out an extension with his best defensive player? That would be stupid. I say we let Wake go. The guy is a bum. We can always find guys in the CFL who are just as good. I mean, we got lucky once, who's to say we can't get lucky again? Ireland is a such a great talent evaluator that I'm confident he'll find someone to replace him if Wake doesn't accept whatever deal he offers him. Then, when whoever Ireland replaces him with gets to a Pro Bowl and puts up the same kind of numbers, he'll find someone else. That's what great GM's like Jeff Ireland do. That's how you win Super Bowls.
Yeah, Ireland is a demon. He hates his players: Link Can you imagine what kind of soulless dick offers his home to a player's family who isn't even on the team anymore?
The point is that the two sides must not be very close to an extension if La Canfora is correct. I don't think Ireland will let Wake walk, either. I didn't even bring his name up in the first place. But this deal NEEDS to get done.
In other words you're rooting for more mediocrity since playoffs aren't a realistic possibility whatsoever. Have fun with that, and stop derailing a thread that's about Cam Wake. I'll keep a spot on the bandwagon open for when the Dolphins have another bad start to the season.
Seriously though, you can't post anything here now without it turning into a Jeff Ireland thread. There's no need to jump to his defense in a thread about Cam Wake missing workouts. I'm simply making the case that he needs to get paid. ASAP.
Because he was absent from non-mandatory practices? Not really. Wake is the absolute last person anyone would worry about not being in shape.
Because I root for my team, same as you. Only difference is I root for them with a realistic view on the team as opposed to homer view. Don't like it. Leave. Or put me on ignore. Want to discuss it any further, create a thread about it instead of derailing this one.
Which is funny bc the thread has people complaining about how this is Ireland's fault way before anyone is defending him.
HAH HA HA HA HA AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA H AHAH HA HA HAH AHA HHA HAH AH AHA HAH HAHA HA HOLY CRAP HA HA HAH AHA HA HA HAHA HA AH Thanks for the laughs. Realistic. WOOOOOO. Thanks.
Ha, right there with you my friend http://www.thephins.com/forums/showthread.php?69713-Jerry-Jones-Charley-Casserly-and-Gil-Brandt-come-to-defense-of-Ireland-and-Ross&p=1751690&highlight=#post1751690
I aim to please. Now carry on with the "realistic" Dolphins are the best, Superbowl here we come opinions in a thread designed for it.
I love Wake. He's a beast and one of my favorite Dolphins. Saying that, I don't want the GM of the Dolphins to just give money away tying up the cap. Wake, as great as he is, is 30 years old. Would you want Ireland to give him a 5-6 year multi-million dollar contract at this stage in Wake's career? Afterall, the guy is making $650,000 per season and he agreed upon that contract. The average American make $45K per year. Now, do I think Wake deserves a raise? Yes. I assume that Ireland does to. The question is, however, how much do the respective parties think is deserved?
not once has anyone posted anything remotely close to your statement. so, once again, no substance or "realism" as you refer to it, in your post
5-6 Million a year for one of the top 5 pass rushers in the league is a steal. He may be 30, but he doesn't have a lot of wear and tear. He's got at least another 4 great years in him imo.
Funny how the Ireland defenders take a pre-emptive strike at Ireland haters in every thread. They try to point out the absurdity of bashing Ireland by faux-bashing Ireland in threads like this one. Its lame and old.
An extension actually frees cap. That's why teams do it. What it also does is basically guarantee he's on the team for at least a couple years. With the way Wake has produced, along with his durability, that shouldn't be a problem.
Ok sorry. The "realistic" Dolphins are among the best!, Playoffs here we come opinions in a thread designed for it. Better?
