Clearly not happy with his contract situation. I mean, it's not like the guy is arguably the Top Pass Rusher in the league and is only making 650,000 this year.

Wake reached the Pro Bowl in 2010 with 16 sacks, and last year he had an aggregate of 90 sacks, QB hits, QB pressures and holding penalties drawn, according to ProFootballFocus -- by far most in the NFL. (Chicago Bears defensive end Julius Peppers, who makes $14 million a season, was second in the NFL, with a total of 74 such plays).

I disagree. Why would Ireland try to work out an extension with his best defensive player? That would be stupid. I say we let Wake go. The guy is a bum. We can always find guys in the CFL who are just as good. I mean, we got lucky once, who's to say we can't get lucky again? Ireland is a such a great talent evaluator that I'm confident he'll find someone to replace him if Wake doesn't accept whatever deal he offers him. Then, when whoever Ireland replaces him with gets to a Pro Bowl and puts up the same kind of numbers, he'll find someone else. That's what great GM's like Jeff Ireland do. That's how you win Super Bowls.

It's one thing to root for the greatest quarterback prospect ever when your team is 0-7. But when you're rooting for a guy not being hearlded as an all-time great in April before the team has even began off-season workouts, I find it in poor taste.
