http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/0900...ins-predraft-visit?module=HP11_headline_stack Not endorsing just didn't see this posted. This guy just needs some platform shoes to see over the linemen.
The dude has no business going in the 1st round...even in the second for that matter. I have to believe he is being brought in incase we haven't drafted a QB and he's there in the 3rd.
He could turn out to be T. J. Yates or John Skelton. Both were big guys coming out of college. Yates did have 4 years starting experience though, and so did Skelton.
no it didn't. No workout "vaults" anyone into the first round. It might make you go back to his tape to dig deeper (ala Josh Robinson), but a workout doesn't change how a guy plays on tape. "first round consideration" for Osweiler is like saying his workout is more significant than his actual game play.
I am okay with the Dolphins kicking the tires on all of the QB prospects, at least they recognize the need. I just hope they make the right choice.
Ireland invested a lot of time in 7th rounder, Jimmy Wilson, so us having Osweiler in for a visit means little about where we'd consider drafting him, if we're even considering it. This is likely nothing more than due diligence in case we lose out on our top targets and Brock is there at one of our late picks and we feel like pulling the trigger.
Can't just focus on one or two guys at the position. Need some worse case scenarios. Dolphins have spent significant time with Tannehill, Weeden, Cousins, Foles, Lindley and Osweiler.
You guys see this kid on Gruden camp, said it takes 2 to 3 guys to get him down haha not in the NFL buddy
Jeff Ireland="Size is dreamy" Largest Qb prospect, is anyone really surprised we'd bring him in for a visit? Unless Philbin sees Ben R or Josh Freeman in him, he is a late 2nd rd pick imo.
Osweiler isnt a bad investment in the 3rd thru 5th rd. 2nd too high. Would take Wilson over Osweiler or Foles IMO
Players don't have to be in the mix at #8 for us to have them in for a visit, he's not a bad option later in the draft. Getting him with one of the 3rd rounders isn't a bad consolation prize IMHO.
I agree with taking him in the third. He needs time to develop IMO. Let him get some practice time with a real coaching staff and learn his trade.
Nothing wrong with looking at all possible QB's, or any other positions we need for that matter. Looking isn't buying, but I'm glad they're at least looking at everyone.
I wouldnt mind a strategy of nabbing the best player available, which would mean passing on tanny and then going all out for matt barkley. I don't want another project qb taken late. too many holes to fill.
Although I don't agree with this, it won't happen. Ireland loses his job if that becomes reality. We are taking a QB somewhere in this draft.
I don't mind them looking at all the QB options. In fact, I believe they should. But if we miss out on Tannehill or Weeden and settle for another long shot project while hoping that next year we can trade up for Barkley then the results will almost assuredly be the same as they have been since Marino.
If he's good enough I agree on a possible 3rd round pick but Newl England will tie him up just to keep us away if he lasts that far. Sounds foolish but seems like they used one of their spare pocket picks last year to sit the qb we were about to grab on their bench just so we had none worthy from the draft.
Here's Brandon Weeden's full Gruden Camp segment... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6jFGjqRawAs Here is Brock Osweiler's... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpKGM9FCyxg
I saw Brock's on ESPN yesterday. There was a lot about it that I liked. If we can be patient enough to let him sit for 2 years, I'd be ok with drafting him.
yuck. Osweiler's so leggy he needs a 747 landing strip to help complete a pass. A normal 7 step drop for him from the 20 yard line is a safety.
Hadnt seen the full BW camp. How can anyone compare to Wienke or not drool for that matter. Taking him at 2-8 would be perfect.
I have him as 4th round prospect, but the buzz is that he'll go in the 2nd. I'm not quite buying the buzz though.
IMO When you scout a Quarterback you are looking at his on the field play, but you are also looking for what flaws held him back. Was it mental? Physical? Poor coaching? How easy are the mistakes he makes to correct? Definitely going to check these videos out in a bit.
