ok guys so i'm horribly bored at work and have been staring down this draft pick value chart... what i have come up with is a realistic, in terms of pick value points for a trade down we draft 8*, 42, 73, 104, 138, 169, 200 8=1,400 42= 480 73=225 104=86 138=37 169=24.8 200=12.4 I believe that trading down to the #12 spot with seattle could be a great spot to take an o-lineman because i think drafting a non left tackle for our offense would be a little overkill unless he was ELITE without doubt... here is my obsorvation... seattle would send us the #12, #76 picks for our #8 pick.. In return after that we send our #42 + #76 to the pats for #27 who are always looking for a trade down (i know in devision but the pats love getting higher round picks and it gives us a chance to move up) We would draft #12 #27 #73 ....... I would most certainly be more comfortable drafting that way where at #12 we could take a Martin/Decastro/Reiff (if he falls) or any other player who might have fallen out of the top 10 Then at #27 take Perry/Allen/curry/Crick* I would love to get a bullrush type guy in Crick who drops out of top 15 because of torn pectoral muscle last season We keep #73 and draft us a FS if one wasnt grabbed in FA what do you guys think? play around with these picks and see who you like..
hence reiff or decastro options.. or if anyone else falls to us at 12.. i wouldnt even mind taking someone like mark barron or dre kirpatrick barron could play FS or SS for us while Bell is either cut or sees a slightly smaller role. Dre would put us at CB1-Vontae Davis CB2-Dre Kirpatrick CB3-Sean Smith (could try FS) CB4 Jimmy wilson (this would make us significatnly better on the back end so we wouldnt need will allen or any other fodder we tend to play to much)
I was fine with this until you brought up those dirty Cheatriots. I would never do another deal with the Evil Empire after they bloodied our noses in the Wes Welker Robbery. I think we ended up drafting Samson Satele with the pick we got from the Pats and someone else who isn't around anymore. I tried to look at the value chart numbers and we could probaly trade down our #8 pick for the Eagles 15th and 46th picks. We would have the 15th, 42nd and 46th pick, and could get three starters who could probably start right away. WR (Floyd, Wright or Sanu)....OL (Jonathan Martin, DeCastro, or Cordy Glenn), DE/LB Hightower, Nick Perry, Whitney Mercilus). I think trading down makes more sense than trading up, especially if we can get a QB like Manning or Flynn.
This is most likely the scenario if we do pick up a qb in FA. I would probably go OL- decastro (Jerry at RT) DE - Curry S-markelle
Instead of starting a new thread, just saw this mock on BR and fought the temptation to the rising erection in my pants.... This my friends is the dream draft.. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...olphins-7-round-pre-combine-dart-board/page/7 If we can nail this.. And I know you all will critique.. It's not too far out there to be unheArd of... It's wold require a drop or two but could happen. Also read the secondary picks they are good as well.
thought about this, this morning.. What if we were to trade wake away, since he might have to become a 4-3 defensive end, for a 1st or 2nd, try our best to get mario williams and coples on the same team... we could quite possibly if coples pans out have 2 of the top 7 defensive ends on our team, both capable of stopping the run and creating great pass rush. and an extra 1st or 2nd to try to grab some more talent? i know i'll catch heat for this but it sure sounds pretty
Why would a team trade a 1st and a 2nd for a guy when they can sign Mario Williams? I swear, too many fans treat the NFL like a game of madden
Well Mark Barron just messed up his hernia so I wouldn't take a chance on him earlier than the 3rd or 4th round. He was one of my favorite prospects in this draft, though. If we go after Kirkpatrick, I want him playing FS not CB. We could even take Chase Minnifield and put him opposite of Vontae, then move SS24 to FS.
Like chase alot.. Having Kirkpatrick fs isn't bad of an idea.. He's pretty long and can tackle well. I didn't see that about Barron.. You think he will drop that far?? I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the second, kid was awesome at bama
idk I keep seeing him projected late 2nd-3rd now. I like him a lot, but I'd rather stick with Yeremiah Bell another year and focus more on FS since Barron effed up his hernia.
Sign mario Williams and scott wells, move pouncey to guard, start Jerry at RT, trade down to mid-low 20's pick up a late second with it. Our first pick take fleener or allen our actual second round pick take Harrison smith Norte dame our late second take chase minnefield.. Or take our early second and our third to get back into the first if a guy like wright or any other good players drop.. Yes this does mean another season with moore... But our team could potentially be set for a hard playoff run with a Qb next year..
I'm going to revamp this... Trade down with bengals. They want Trent and we will comply. we get 17-21 in the first they get 8 and the bears 3rd which is 74 17. Michael Floyd ND 21. Colby fleener sStanford 42. Harrison smith ND Trade this years 3rd and next years to Seattle for 43 43. Andre branch clemson 103. Marvin jones Cal 137. Russel Wilson Wisconsin We draft twice in the first, twice in the second. Gives us both solid defensive players who could come in and start for us, and two wide receivers who can also fight to see the field immediately. A TE who is an upgrade and for much less money. Developmental QB who has the fight to make it
I think the goal of this draft team should be to walk out of this draft with 2 first round draft picks..been saying it all off season..i'am not the kind of guy that likes to speculate trade down scenarios with other teams a month out, but I agree with the premise.. I do see the ravens trying to get pretty far up in the draft to select Luke Kuechly, you let that dude watch ray Lewis lead a team for a year, and sheeeee&.
How much we'd like to trade back for Cincy's picks (if Tannehill is gone) should be the answer on how Cincy would feel about giving them up IMO. I honestly don't see them using both firsts to trade up for Richardson. I think Trent is one of those situations where he isn't a draft day priority but at some point might represent too much value to not make a slight trade up for, but even that might not happen. Also, acquiring an extra 2nd rounder that high (#43) would likely cost us our 2013 1st rounder, so I'd pass on that in Alphonso Smith fashion. If we hypothetically sacrifice a future 1st, it better be to acquire an extra 2012 first. Not a fan of trading 1sts for 2nds.
very true, it all comes down to how much they value richardson, i do believe he will be there at our pick. i dont like trading first for seconds either unless there is a guy who we are absolutly sold on being better then a first the following year. i wouldnt mind packaging a 3rd and 5th this year plus a 2nd for a high 2nd and 6th this year
