Hey guys i've been watching the playoffs and getting ready for the GM League and I got to thinking how fun it could be if we could implement a playoff into our end of the season voting? My idea would be that we vote for the conference winners and then 2 wildcards and vote on each game until we eventually have a superbowl winner. In each playoff game we can vote on who we think would win based on talent, matchups, etc. What do you guys think? It would extend the end of the league a little more, but it could lead to some great match-up breakdowns, discussions, and rivalries.
we did a playoff format one year, from what i remember it didn't catch on and we went right back to our usual voting format.
We tried it... and I couldn't get many people to to consistently vote for each "round". If you can get a petition of at least 16 GMs that would be interested and would vote for each round.. maybe we'll try it again.
Well, no matter what happens, I'll cast my vote for that format. Add me to the petition, sounds like fun.
Pretty much. Which is exactly why there is no point in doing the voting style playoffs system. All the guys who are friends will just vote for each other. And guys like me could put together a team for the ages and it wouldn't matter. Which is fine, to me the GM league isn't about winning awards it's about the fun of putting a team together and to pass time until the draft/TC/ preseason starts. But I still think it's a pointless exercise, but if the majority want to do it then so be it.
