    the poor house
espm had Tony Dungy on and he said the owner doesnt want to let Peyton Manning to go anywhere else and that they had too many holes to fill to just resign Peyton and draft LUCK because it would mean that all the money would be tied up into two qbs and this was exactly the reason Wanny kept fielder and passed on Brees. staahour disagreedbut Tony had a good point . I beleive that Miami could man up and make a blockbuster trade for Luck.

side note , I realize that is wishful thinking and it is so unlikely to happen but they cant afford to spend so much money on peyton, and keep luck both while rebuilding their roster.

the question is , can miami make a big trade for a position that we need ?

UPDATE ESNP IS PUTTING WORDS INTO WHAT tONY dUNGY DID SAY SO MODS CAN YOU DELETE THIS THREAD ?

I think Jake Long and 3 firsts and maybe some others picks should do it.

Ugh. love the idea. but Long and 3 1sts sounds so excessive for them to move down just a few spots.
How about 2 firsts, 2 3rds + Cam Wake? they need youth at DE.
Let's keep Long to protect our future franchise QB

Whatever happened to the All Things Andrew Luck thread? Thought all of these things "Luck" were supposed to be merged into the one? :confused2:

Maybe, they have to get creative(Ireland :pity:) and just throw everything possible at the Colts. Meet their price.

Sums it up, why not plead for Calvin Johnson while we are at it?

As soon as Irsay fired Polian, I figured he went all in with Peyton Manning. Irsay doesn't want to take the chance that Luck busts and the team is still terrible, and he certainly doesn't want another 5-10 years of Polian pretending to be a good GM by hiding behind the best QB in the league.

I could very well be wrong though.

I think we need to accept that Andrew Luck won't be a Miami Dolphin. We have a better shot of seeing Manning in a Miami uniform than Luck, IMO.

The opportunity to trade for a pick is gone after the draft is done. Anybody who has paid attention to the NFL for any length of time knows that. To look at a recent example, how many times did Mike Brown say that Carson Palmer wouldn't be traded? Even Brown who has a reputation for stubbornness caved when he was offered a ton. Now I thought that was a stupid trade by the Raiders as Palmer was not worth that much, but Luck is. And Irsay's reputation is more accurately described as mercurial.

Dangle the chopper, Ross. Dangle the chopper!

Feck me, this is the best news I've heard in a while. Our owner is the biggest Real Estate mogul in the world, if anyone can wrest Luck away from Indy...

Top ten things Ross can give Irsay for Luck:

    10. Rights to design the new twin towers in the shape of a horseshoe.

    9.

C'mon Pad, you know better than that.
It really doesn't matter what anyone says before the draft. It's all about leverage. Maybe that is his intention, or maybe he says that as a trial balloon to see how badly some teams want Andrew Luck.

Of course he does. I never espoused a SFL strategy, but I'm not going to pretend that trading for Luck is an impossibility. It's obviously not a likely event especially if you're not willing to pay the price, but if you are, it is naive to pretend there is no price and that it would be impossible to trade for that pick.

Trading up for Luck or with the Vikings 3rd pick for RG3 or signing Manning if he is healthy and hits FA would actually give the fanbase hope and excitement.

So... expect none of the above to happen, I never expect anything to go our way anymore.
