I will be simming one week every Wednesday starting now. We're all caught up to week 2 so this coming Wednesday will be the week 3 sim.

Just a few things that I'll throw down so you guys are aware.

I turned on the existing injuries so anyone who was on the IR would have that noted in the game. I used the first roster update so if someone got hurt before last Wednesday or so, it shouldn't count as a existing injury. The notable ones that I recall are Terrell Thomas and Mikel LeShoure. However guys like Peyton Manning are not listed as injured. I guess because he didn't have that surgery before the first roster update, they probably figured he'd play. If they're in the roster and weren't considered injured by the list, they are eligible to play.

I moved your players positions to fit your scheme. However I auto-aligned the depth chart so if you had someone starting, but his back-up was rated high in Madden... the higher-rated player would get the start. An example would be Sean Smith was listed as the starting cornerback for the Denver Broncos, but Andre Goodman was rated 5-6 points higher than Smith. Because of the auto-align, Goodman would be the starting cornerback whereas Smith would be the nickel cornerback.

The defensive schemes are suited to whatever you listed in your final roster. The player priority (3-4 DEs are more run blocking while 4-3 DEs are more pass rushing) are changed to fit that scheme as well too.

There were players that were not on a final roster that were considered free agents. These players were put on teams by the CPU's choice. Basically I have the CPU running every team while I sim so if someone gets put on IR, they will sign a new player to put on the roster. So some guys found their way onto different teams and are now starting for them. For example, Tiki Barber is starting for the San Francisco 49ers, Mike Sims-Walker is starting for the San Diego Chargers, Jake Delhomme is starting for the Detroit Lions, Antoine Winfield is starting for the Indianapolis Colts, among others. If they weren't on a final roster, I didn't care to find out how they players weren't signed. So if you were given a gift of a player that wasn't yours, be thankful. If you were the unlucky who may have had one of these players on your roster, but forgot to include on your final roster... too bad. I don't care.

Each week, I'll update the injury report, standings, and league leaders. If you want to know how a particular player is doing or did in a game, I'll try to let you know.

This **** took forever so you guys better be checking the sim each week!

As a man who has simmed many of seasons of madden I have to respect the living hell out of GIK for going through 32 teams, changing the rosters, then taking the time to provide a nice little write up, a season leaders section, standings the whole 9. That had to take over 4-5 hours of work thus far.

Im sure the hard part is over though since he can now just spend some time on a wednesday to "deal with this"...

Appreciate the time dude, and go Dolphins.

I spent a few hours a day putting together the rosters. It was time-consuming because of all the steps... record all the rosters, release various players on teams, sign players to the right teams, re-organize the team (switching 4-3 DEs to 3-4 OLBs, 3-4 DEs to 4-3 DTs, etc.), and adjusting the playbooks to fit the schemes.

Only God knows if I go through the trouble to do this again...

you sir are certainly a man among men.

It's nice to see the Vikings defense do what i built it for, and like most of my offenses they are getting by. 1-1 is pretty good.

Thanks for all the work GIK

I can't believe how ****ty my offense is doing so far. Brad smith with 8 catches? Why would he get 8 catches when you have Austin, Jackson, Wallace, Burleson and Greg Olsen.

I am really looking forward to week 3!

I like the Vikings chances to keep at the top of the NFC North against the Lions if Delhomme is throwing. Should be able to pressure him enough and throw some more picks. Not looking forward to the Chiefs game though.

I am out of town until tomorrow night for business so I can post the scores (scores only, no stats) from the sim later tonight when I am back at my hotel or I can wait and post everything tomorrow evening when I get back home. I didn't have the time to record all the stats last night before I had to get ready to leave.

Now that my X-Box doesn't die after 5 minutes of gameplay... had to open it up and give it a good cleaning (lots of dust built up in there because I never opened it and had it since 2007)... the regular season is all simmed with stats and such updated.

I'll sim each playoff week on Wednesdays with a decent write-up for each game. Doing 4 small write-ups per week shouldn't kill me.... A few surprises and I can't say I agree with some of the Pro Bowl selections but it's Madden I guess. A few key injuries really mixed things up (Rivers, Manning, Vick, Stafford, etc.) so it'll be an interesting playoffs.
