Cook is a Center/G iirc, this is somewhat surprising about Edds

Keeping Spitler over Edds. Boy am I way off on my evaluation of Spitler.

    Wow, Spitler beat out Edds.

EDIT: Well isn't Spitler more of a downhill run stopping type as opposed to Burnett. Perhaps Burnett meant there was no reason to keep Edds.

Shocking about Edds to me. I would of thought Spitler before Edds but I guess they are going to sneak him on the PS. Happy about Rosario though. I've been wanting him on this team for awhile

Edds is not going to make the waiver wire sneak.

We collect guys who can play at all these different spots and yet we lack guys who can just excel at one position.

Wow this sucks. Always rooted for Edds to make it and I thought he was our #3 ILB. Really had a good preseason and I thought our coaches were pretty high on him also. thats a bummer...

Nope, in fact if his knee is 100% he probably won't make it past the Bills.

Edds hasn't shown he's a playmaker, though I'm disappointed Spitler was kept over him. Edds may make it to the PS.

Well even if it isn't, he has 3 yrs of psquad time if he is claimed, I'd expect that to be enticing for someone, maybe the Giants, or Eagles.

If he is lost to another team, that's one more wasted pick by Ireland. This guy is looking worse and worse. Just get rid of him Ross.

Don't players claimed from wavers have to go directly onto the 53? I didn't think they could be added to the PS.

This move shocked me - I thought he was our #3 ILB

Yes, waiver claimed players must go on 53 and I believe for at least 3 weeks.

In fact according to the depth chart on the team website he was 2nd team ahead of Mitchell (albeit this is listed as an unofficial depth chart)

Its kind of surprising to see him go but to be honest, I didnt seem him making a whole lot of plays in the preseason.

We needed a C/G and an athletic TE over another LB. You're in a good position when you have too many good players...

God forbid a 4th round pick doesn't pan out.

Btw, this is the same guy who drafted Jimmy Wilson is the 7th round. "Wasting" a 4th rounder doesn't give anyone the boot.

I thought it was pretty common knowledge that Edds was more of a "special" boy than Spitler...Oh fan football knowledge, why are you such a delicate house of cards?

According to some sources Tony's explanation about keeping Spitler vs. Edds was simply more time put in. If this is remotely true shame on Tony.

Maybe the organization was reminded of the last guy named AJ that played for Miami, and felt the need to get him out of here ASAP

edds was very similiar to barrett rudd for me in the preseason, always making a tackle, but mostly after 4-5 yard gains

Almost like they are trying to be too smart.

Someone said surprising , not to me , at least not anymore. It isn't like the Patriots have TE's that solid coverage LB'ers would help with.

Clearly they are willing to be judged on the won loss record and will be. They are saying with Sparano's luncheon speak , their roster choices and non choices that they will be a playoff team this year. Good on them , I don't think so but they do.

    We'll see won't we .

Kind of like Carroll making the tackle 10 or 12 yards from the line of scrimmage?
