Sports24/7 has already lived up to his reputation as a mover and shaker and it's only a few days into the offseason. Known for his willingness to move star players to improve his team, some already feel he has made the Cardinals favorites to win the NFC West and after some more moves potentially contend for a Super Bowl. The Cardinals started off by making some smaller scale moves by acquiring LB Thaddeus Gibson from San Francisco for backup safety Rashad Johnson. Next they added pass rusher Cameron Sheffield from Kansasy City for a 5th round pick. They then traded WR Stephen Williams to the Chargers for a 6th round pick. Gibson and Sheffield were both drafted in 2010 and are known as guys with upside. While niether is expected to start this season, both should see plenty of playing time.
That was a lot of activity early on in the first couple of days of the offseason, but it turned out to simply be an appetizer for what was on deck.

Next, came one of the biggest deals in the league so far this offseason when the Cardinals traded perhaps their most talented player, Larry Fitzgerald, to the Patriots in exchange for TE Aaron Hernandez, Brandon Tate, and a 1st round pick. Hernandez had a breakout rookie year for the Patriots gaining almost 600 yards and scoring 6 TDs. Tate, also had a promising rookie year and did a nice job filling the deep threat void left when Randy Moss was traded.
The worry was how the fans would react to the trading of the Cardinals franchise player, but those concerns seemed to fade after other moves were made
What they did with that first round pick (along with a 6th) was get themselves a young franchise quarterback in Matthew Stafford from the Detroit Lions. Stafford, a former number 1 overall pick is regarded as one of the best young quarterbacks in football and when he's been healthy has been extremely impressive posting a 91.3 QB rating and a 6 to 1 TD to INT ratio last season.
Part of that line will include newly acquired offensive guard Todd Heremans who the Cardinals acquired from the Eagles along with ultra-talented defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley for safety Adrian Wilson and a 6th round pick. In continuing to rebuild the Cardinals front seven they also traded for stud linebacker D.J. Williams from the Denver Broncos for a 3rd round pick as well as a swap of 2nd rounders. To round out the front seven, they traded a 4th and 6th round pick to the Panthers in exchange for former second round pick, defensive end Everette Brown.
After all of this activity, you have to wonder if Sports24/7 will now take a break and get ready for free agency and the draft. Not so fast he says
    Don't count on it.
