Although I have been on the bandwagon to oust Sparano, I am starting to reconsider, based on that if you look at the whole body of work (Sparano talk) we are just not that bad. There have also been a number of great post by members here that give me hope for this regime

I also do not think I can handle another 3 years of rebuilding!

Lets assume this regime recognizes their mistakes and lets help Sparano/Ireland build there case to Ross.

    I will start.

    Mr Ross,

We will get the Dolphins to the SB within the next two years. We have demonstrated we have the ability to fix things as we did with the defence last year and the Special teams this year. This same philosophy will be used to correct the offence this off season. We have no excuse for our dismal home record but will point out our away record was one of the best in franchise history, this is what gives us hope for the future. We are very close we have the talent, they are young, will make mistakes but most importantly are totaly commited to this organization and prepared to do what is required to develop.

I (Sparano) take full responsibility for our offensive woes this year. Our biggest problem was we lacked a running game and we were totaly inconsistent in our pass blocking. We lack chemistry and I failed in my evaluation of the talent we bought in to compete. We also lack speed on offence. This is all correctable this offseason and this is the plan for the offence.

    Sign best available Center FA.

    Sign best available TE FA

Draft RB/KR with speed and good hands.

    Draft WR/KR with speed.

Find gem guards in draft in latter rounds.

    Special Teams:

    Add KR/PR

Add a banger like the guy from Detroit.

    Defence:

Sign another pass rusher to compliment Wake and compete with Misi

Add a coverage LB (Could be Edds)

You will note we have not added a QB, it is not that we are totally sold on Henne/Thigpen but we do feel they are capable in the right offence. And their are just no options out there without mortgaging the future of the franchise and neglecting our other needs.

Henning will retire and we will bring in a new OC with more of an attacking style and a proven record of developing young QB's

    Sparano/Ireland

Look at all the stuff you are asking for.

That would mean we're prety broken.

I think our defense is fine. I don't think a great deal needs to be done at this point.
What we've got to find is an game breaker on offense. We've GOT to.
That's what sets other teams apart from us...Game breakers.

As much as I would like to go after a QB this year, I think we have to wait. I think
we've got to see one more year with Henne and a veteran journeyman. We DESPERATELY
need a game breaker at the WR position. We can make do at RB, we can make do at
O Line...We've GOT to have a playmaker at WR.

If we can do what damn near EVERY other NFL team has done other than us, we can
instantly be competetive with anyone, IMO.

At center we have Richie Incognito, he was a strength of our Offensive Line last week.

At Tight end Fasano is good, I don't understand why people think he isn't all we need to do it find an H back type to compliment him. We don't need to sign a Zach Miller type.

At Running Back I would rather not just bring in a change of pace guy, I want to see an effort to get younger here, Ricky and Ronnie just can't be consistent as a tandem anymore.

We absolutely need a receiver or two, not only because we need to improve our speed, but also because our Wide Receiver depth is terrible.

I think we could a guard or two for depth, but I'd rather see it done in Free Agency because it seems that Ireland is better at finding Guards in Free Agency than the draft (Ex. Shawn Murphy, Donald Thomas v. Richie Incognito, Nate Garner).

    We also need Tackle depth.

Nolan Carroll is a good Kick Returner, and Davone Bess is a fine Punt Returner. They don't scare people, but it's not a necessity that we improve here to win.

We should sign another pass rusher, but Misi is having a very good rookie year, he would only be depth.

Edds is absolutely the guy we need next to Dansby, he would be the perfect guy to solve our woes against Tight Ends, I'm very excited about finally getting him on the field. If his injury could affect his career than I like Casey Matthews at that spot.

We NEED to bring in a veteran back up for Henne.

I think that this off season we have to actually focus on a draft and free agency that bring us weapons for Henne (or some other QB if you prefer), but I don't think that our line has been nearly as bad as people are saying.

    Friend Dansar:

to fix the offense start @ the top, fire Sparano & Henning
    then go for:
    1) QB
    2) Center
    3) Guard
eventually, you could use a speedy RB & pro-bowl potential TE to compliment Fasano
a Return Specialist would be a nice addition for Special Teams

three pieces is not too much for a good draft & free agency

Every good team has a good QB. We are not a good team because of this.
    We NEED a QB.

Were Not Even Damaged Like How Everyone Assumes We Are

    All We Need Is
    -A QB
    -A Guard
    -Another MLB (AJ Edds)
-And Some Fast Runningbacks/WR (Kory Sheets)

We Can Pick Up Half of Those In FA
And We Have I Think 6 Draft Picks This Year
Our Defense is Sold As Is, All We Need To Do Is Draft Some Offensive Players and Prolly Depth On Defense

We Dont Need Another TE, Henne Barely Looks At Our Number 2 TEs, Dederick Epps and Mickey Shuler Would Prolly Suceed On Other Teams.

if You Really Think About What we NEED and Not what we WANT, then the need is very little and We are possibly reaching the End of the "Rebuilding Stage"

If Anything We NEED to Get Rid of Henning.

If it isn't almost all offense, then Sparano & Ireland need to go. That would mean they just don't get it, and never will.

If you take into consideration what this team has drafted the past 3 years on offense
    the only successes are below
    Jake Long...#1 draft pick
    Chad Henne...More questions than answers
Brian Hartline ...#2 wide receiver with 3 tds in 2 seasons says it all

John Jerry...may become something but he became the backup to
    a Dallas reject backup

Lex Hilliard has NOT rushed for 1 single yard this season
and has 1 reception for 3 yards production this year...
3 yards offensive production...a career special teams player

Coming off a 1-15 season and ONLY getting 3 offensive starters
on offense with two of them marginal and the other a #1 draft pick
is a clear problem with the evaluation of offensive players
one could say the only starter worth anything is Long

    Pat White
    Pat Turner
    Sean Murphy
    Donald Thomas
    John Nalbone
    Andrew Gardner
    Jalen Parmele

3 drafts and all we have is
    Jake Long,Chad Henne,and Brian Hartline
as starters doesn't bode well with my confidence
in this regime to draft any semblance of a playmaker

Exactly, this would be my argument in getting rid of Ireland. I just don't think he has a clue about offense, and how to build one. Couple that with conservative fist-pumper Mr. Field Goals, I think its a deadly combination, and one that dooms us for next year as well. If they can't get us at least a WC slot in the playoffs next year, I don't think there is any question they BOTH will be gone.

Ross can do his part and fix the dreadful homefield performance and record..

First recognizing, than putting a significant amount of resources into the stadium to make the fans closer to the field, and make it more intimate with a partial roof..

If he was really smart, he would put all his resources into the campaign for the OB2....He would make all his money back on the name, impact on the city, and configuration alone..

The first stadium ever, built to spec with one purpose in mind...intimidate the opponent.

I still think they deserve another year, but I agree with DolfanJake. Last years draft was all about Defense and I think from what we've seen it was more than a good draft. This years draft must be all about Offense and it had better start with a 1st round, bonafide Qb. They must manuever however is needed to get one of the top QB choices in this draft.

If they do not address the offense this year, then they need to face the consequences.

One more thing, they had better not even think about bringing Henning back.

For the life of me I will never understand the Andrew Gardner pick.

I think if we pay Incognito as center we do not have to fix all that much. Look how good things ran even with McQuistan and Jerry and friggin Murtha surrounding Incognito.

Get Careys weight down, improve Jerry or use him as backup, put Incognito at C, find another guard and this offensive line would be very good. Just wish would could see Incognito at center again Sunday but do to the fact we have no more tackles on the team and McQuistan should be the RT for NE and Berger cannot play guard to save his life, we will be forced to insert Berger at C into the lineup, which blows.

I dream he will do it, but don't count on it. He doesn't have $ 1 billion to spend on a stadium, even as rich as he is.
