Hopefully, all this money will prevent him from punting the football during training camp!

Seriously, the guy deserves to be paid as a top-5 WR. Aint my money!

I don't have any issues with that contract. Marshall is arguably the best WR in the entire league...

I'd place him above Moss. If you take age into consideration, Marshall > Moss is a no-contest.

It's really not much more than Dansby got.

Marshall's a bigger character risk for sure. But he's also a better player.

I dont care about the money, as a Yankee fan, hate all you want, but I am glad the ownership actually is investing in the players to help this team win a championship, instead of pocketing it....It is Ross's problem, not ours, I want playmakers on this team, and you have to pay for playmakers.....

It is ours. The fans are going to pay those salaries. And if there's not enough money, that's when you'll see ticket prices rise, etc.

Great investment... You know Ross may have had some say on this as well. He talked about how he wanted some star power on the field as well as in the stands... WIN-WIN situation!

Uh, no. Moss was off and running from the very get go. More yards, more TDs, higher YPC throughout their first years, even if you throw away Marshalls rookie season.

Plus, moss was that Deep threat. Marshall is that big play threat, but not necessarily a deep threat.

Until Randy Moss actually shows his age, he's still the better player unfortunately. 1200yds, 13 tds.

    Marshall - 1100 yds 10 tds.

But Marshall with Chad Henne? 1700yds 25 tds. No doubt.

If you want to drive a Ferrari you gotta pay up. It's funny how the Jets fans all have buyer's remorse now and are saying, "Couldn't Tanny have waited a couple more days and gone after Marshall instead." The Jets got the busted up Yugo and we got the Bentley. They were running a poll on Gang Green about who had the best receivers in the AFC East (they only mentioned the Jets and Pats). Now we just moved ahead of both of them. Revis is going to be watching Marshall fly by him for some huge TD's/

i still think he is better player then moss right now. and no doubt with 25 TDs and 1700 yards thats a little bit of a reach i am thinking more around 1400 and 15 TDs

I'm listening to the Dan Patrick show and they said Marshall's first four years were better then Jerry Rice's (if you just look at the numbers). Warren Sapp said he doesn't know what the Broncos are doing, and why would the Broncos be inviting Dez Bryant in and letting Marshall go. Good point.

    Lets look at the numbers
for the first 4 years of both

    TOUCHDOWNS
    Rice...49
Marshall..25...Rice by almost double the tds

    Yards receiving
    Rice...4881 yards receiving
    Marshall...4019...Rice by 862 yards

    Touchdown rushing
    Rice....4
    Marshall..0........Rice by 4-0

    Yards rushing
    Rice...253
    Marshall...104...Rice again

    Don't believe everything you hear
as Rice was clearly the better at 4 years

With that said I am thrilled to have Marshall
as well as Dansby on this team

Ok, first, I'm ecstatic that we got Marshall. Now there are no excuses on offense. We have a play maker, we have good #2, 3, 4, and 5 WRs (assuming one of them is gone soon). We have an adequate, but not spectacular TE. We have a solid run game with three decent backs and a pretty good OL. There should be no reason we don't win against the Colts and Saints given the same circumstances now.

However, to compare Marshall to Rice is a little unfair. First, Rice had the advantage of an exploding offense for at least his first 10 seasons with arguably one of the top 5-7 QBs of all time, solid but spectacular at times run games, and very good complementary receivers to go along with him. All that said, if you want to look at Marshall in 10 yrs, then you can compare his numbers to Rice... It's like comparing Chad Henne to Dan Marino. Henne may or may not turn out to be one of the greatest of all time, but we know that Marino did turn out to be one of the greatest QBs of all time. So, comparing them now is very, very unfair....

    It's certainly close.

The WRs are slightly in their favor although not by nearly as much as the Jets may think. Bess and Hartline are consistent. Edwards is not.

At TE they've got the pass-catching threat who can't block, while Miami has the excellent blocking, decent receiving Anthony Fasano.

At RB don't even start, unless injuries come into play. That's just stupid.
