I couldn't find a good quote to place here on this article so I just encourage you to check it out. Click here: Playoffs
I was about to post the link. I agree very good and encouraging article. It seems we are the perm underdogs as someone coined it this week. Its good to see some people think we can do it. I mean all of us here know we can most non dolfans dont.
No problem. Glad to do it. I will stop posting when someone asks me to do so. I just hope it isn't too much posting though
Not sure what they are talking about when they say we have the fifth best defense in YPG... We're 19th.
i think they mixed it up. that looks like total defensive yards numbers. and i think we are 5th in rushing defense.
stats or no stats, if we get a W this week, i think our chances at a playoff spot are pretty darn good. No matter how you slice it, there really is only BAL, DEN, MIA and under certain limited scenarios JAX at 9-7 and NE/NYJ at 10-6. No other team has a realistic shot ....
Miami controls it's own destiny and what more could you ask for ? But unless I am wrong if Miami gets into the playoffs they would be the first team to make it after starting the season 0-3. I say why not, after all this team broke some records last year so why not this year ?
unfortunately, we don't control our own destiny .... but the likelihood if we win out is just pretty darn good.
I actually don't think we'd be the first team to make playoffs after 0-3, though it's not something that's happened in awhile. Think I remember seeing the last team to do it was a Bills team.
Hey I thought this would be good to add to this thread. Mark and Marcelus from ESPN seem to like us in tomorrows game. I have attached the link to the clip... http://sports-ak.espn.go.com/nfl/nflpreview?gameId=291220010
Just as an FYI, most of what you read from that site is written by fans. The writer is a Dolphin fan. Like you, I enjoyed reading it, but be aware that the source isn't unbiased.
quote The way Joe Flacco has been playing lately, I am sure the Ravens would rather have Ronnie Brown be the quarterback, even with his injury. Ravens loss would be nice but Pats loss would make our day.
i think a PATSIES loss over the next 3 weeks is much more likely than BAL .... JAX / HOU will not be 'easy' games for them ... especially since JAX is playing for their playoff life, and HOU will probably be playing to close 8-8 ..... since we should beat them next week !
So now we have to win the next two and the Pats have to lose to Jacksonville and Houston? OUCH! Anything is possible I suppose. Highly unlikely, though.
No. Just no. Too inconsistent this year and we dont have the players-this Titans game has made that painfully obvious. We completely choked against the Bills and now the Titans. The Rams have scored more points then us today so far. I at least expected us to go down fighting, not get dominated. We can still comeback, I just dont see a Saints-like comeback by us. September is a long ways away.
No, because Chad Henne sucks balls. God this kid is terrible. Tyler Thigpen should get the final 2 starts...
OMFG, Henne is an INT waiting to happen, we need to use a 2nd rounder for another QB in the 2010 draft! /sarcasm
My only major fault with Henne is that when he is under pressure he tends to throw high and that's a disaster in the NFL because there is always someone lurking around deep (because unlike Gibril Wilson some DB's know to stay deeper than the deepest receiver) to pick the ball off. I think we have a great future with him.
According to this, we can still make it without a miracle even if Baltimore beats Chicago. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/playoffscenario?algorithm=custom&14=44114115&15=50000041&16=55141515 We would need a Pittsburgh win next weekend.
You tend to forget, its Chads first year as a starter... You also fail to realize there is a learning curve in the NFL, and QB's don't become HOFers over night...Your expectations were set way to high, and i think everyones was, after the Jet game, and once he makes a hiccup you panic. Do you just forget about his 90 yard tieing drive? Also i dont know if you know this or not, but Henne does not have a GREAT WR to throw to. You can give up now if you want, but from what i have seen, i am excited for our future with him as QB
Wow I thought Baltimore had the tiebreaker. So essentially we are indeed still alive if Pitt. can beat Baltimore in Pittsburgh. Thanks man great find. Also Chad Henne = rookie...expect the bad with the good. I mean the kid is still 7-4 overall as a starter on a team full of injuries. True he has cost us two games but none of the seven wins came without a significant contribution from him. I have a lot of confident still in this guy. He will make mistakes as a rookie.
He didn't lead a 90 yard drive. Were you even watching this game? He threw a ball up for grabs and the defender dropped an INT and Hartline, not Henne, Hartline made a huge play. Everyone seems to treat Henne with kid gloves... His first year starting... So? Does that excuse the continued mistakes we've seen over and over? Seems like the Fielder apologists have jumped to their new guy. Chad Henne looks no better than J.P. Losman did.
I don't even think a Chicago win today would really help. The tiebreaker that matters is the conference record. Besides us winning out, Baltimore would need to lose one of their last two games. Both road games.
I appreciate the story link, but it is a very weak article and I am surprised that it was published. It basically says that we will make the playoffs because. No reasoning, no logic, just because. Unless he is in contact with wohmever paid off the officials in the Tennesse game yesterday, I do not think "because" will guarantee a playoff slot.
Seems like you are the only one who thinks Henne is a bust. Dan Marino's opinion and 99.9% of Dolfans opinion > yours
By that logic the Colts should have canned Manning. Manning's first year stats G-16 CMP- 326 ATT- 575 PCT- 56.7 TD-26 INT- 28
