post in Dolphins site WHAT'S WITH THE HELMET, CHAD?: In one of the more light-hearted moments of second-year quarterback Chad Henne's weekly press conference, the former Michigan standout was asked why his helmet seems so tight on his head, and specifically up front where the pad on his forehead looks like it's pushing his eyebrows down. "My fiancée said the same thing," Henne said. "She said, ‘Every time you put the helmet on you see so much anger and you're eyebrows are down.' But hey, when I got that lick on Sunday and the helmet stayed on, that definitely protects you. So a tighter helmet is definitely better for a quarterback rather than having it pop off and getting hit in the head. I've seen how it looks and it's weird, but hopefully I can throw some linebackers off sometimes. It's just a regular helmet, I don't know. Maybe it's a new revolution I guess from when I started wearing it in high school." I thought it looked a bit funny over his eyes.
Ive been laughin my *** off because it looks like he cant see a thing...i swear its gotta be shuttin some of his vision off no? lol
The ladies seem to hate it. There's this one chick I know who is in love with CP, and she said something along the lines of 'I hope Pennington comes back because Henne just looks ugly with that thing sticking out of his helmet." I told her to become a Cowboys fan if she didnt like it, because Pennington aint coming back!" lol
I agree, Pat White's looks more ridiculous. He's got like the biggest helmet out there with the smallest shoulder pads.
I was going to start a thread about this. His helmet is TOOOOO tight. it is hurting his vision. it is bunching up his forehead skin. Look at his forehead after games..it is red and almost bleeding. Peyton Manning uses a revolution helmet as well...and he doesn;t have it like that. Get a comfortable helmet Chad.
Yeah, who hasn't noticed the "roll".....I thought he was hiding a hotdog in his helmet for a game-time snack.....
He says its not uncomfortable, I have no idea how the hell his helmet can possibly be comfortable. It really makes him look smaller than he already is.
Well, since I have dealt with this same affliction, I feel qualified and authorized to shed some light on this topic gents. It has nothing to do with tightness of the helmet. It has everything to do with the shape of his facial bone structure. Like Henne, I have very pronounced cheek bones, orbital bones, jaw bone and chin (likely related to my Native American Indian lines), and when I wore a helmet, yep, sorry to say, the same thing happened to me. The bones just above my eyes are, shall we say, bigger than most people's and when I put a helmet on, there just wasn't anywhere to put that junk, and, well, the helmet wins when you strap it on. The only thing he could do is get a helmet that has padding custom designed to contour to his bone structure. Could he do this? Yes, but then it draws attention to an already embarassing situation. So, now you have....the rest of the story.
Pat White's helmet looks like he just jumped out of a F16... I was actually wondering if he had cameras in there...
