Yep, I have joined the US Army and will be leaving for Basic on 20 Oct. to Fort Knox. Then it's off to Fort Sam Houston for AIT as a Combat Medic (68W). I'm pretty excited about going, though I'll miss my wife and children a lot while I'm gone. Keep me in your thoughts while I'm away. And as soon as I get computer access, I'll be right back on here with you guys. Hopefully before I leave the Dolphins will right the ship and win a couple before I leave. Then when I get out of basic, maybe I'll get a nice surprise and see that we've had a great turn around. I haven't been on here posting as much lately because during most of my spare time, I've been training and running like mad and have really gotten into great shape. Anyway, wish me luck and I'll be missing all of my fellow fin fans when I leave... God Bless...
Good luck brother, I am proud of you. Thanks for making the decision to serve your country, I hold it in high honor.
Just not in combat! Thanks for offering yourself to serve our country. I wish you the best and hope you have a safe and successful time in our Armed Forces.
scall13, Good luck. And don't take this the wrong way, but I was wondering how old you are? I seem to recall that you were in your late 20's/early 30's...? I could be wrong, and if so, I apologize. I , in no way am asking in a critical or disparaging way. It just took me by surprise that someone fo your age is joining the military (if that is the case). Maybe it happens more than I know though. Anyhow, best of luck and come back healthy, C2C needs their QB.
I'm in my 30s. Almost went in a while back. Was playing semi-pro football at the time and my team mates talked me out of joining. I've regretted not going in ever since. I finally decided to it while I can. I don't want to one day look back and say "I wish I would have" after it's too late.
