I buy a lot of my games on sale or clearance, or what have you. I figure many of you guys (not named Mor) look for sales and such too. So, I figure I will post this thread and if I see anything real good on CAG or Slickdeals I'll update this post. I will try and keep this up to date, and if anyone is looking for anything specific, I will do my best to try and help find a deal.

    Current deals:
Buy 2 Get 1 Free on used games starting tonight at Gamestop/EB Games, and will last through Sunday (7/19).

Always check out Targets clearance games. We always have different games on the Electronics clearance rack.

For anyone still using a PS2 (or any PS3 with backwards compatibility) from the Gamestop weekend special email newsletter (also has PS3/360 ones from time to time, so I'd recommend enrolling):

if you pass a Sears Essentials, its worth the stop. As I said in another thread. I got Guitar Hero Aerosmith(360), and Kane and Lynch(PS3) for $15 a piece. They also had Viking, which Id love to know if its good or not. I passed on it, but would go back if I heard it was worth the time. And they had heavenly Sword which I already own, all for 15 too. Some pretty nice titles for 15 clams.

I'm pretty sure if VO came in and saw you passed on a game called Viking he'd go

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" like the viking in that snickers commercial.

I think he will comment on this thread soon; he must have his profile set up to automatically notify him when the word "viking" is used in a sentence.

so i moved out from my college housing and now am guitar hero/rockband-less... i want to start from the beginning (as that would be the cheapest route) so i've been looking for some sort of guitar hero 1 & 2 package deal with 2 guitars. haven't really found a good one yet so if anyone spots it let me know

Actually I heard that Viking was average at best. I'm sure I'll buy it used at some point.

Though I will certainly pick up Mad World if I can find it for cheap.

i thought Viking was very fun... But like Assassin's Creed, it got repetitive in the 2nd area. In fact, I'd go out on a limb and say that Vikings was less repetitive than Assassin's Creed.

Well I have been searching for a 360 and Dell.com has both the Pro and Elite (Holiday Bundle-Indiana Jones Lego/Kung Fu Panda--not impressive but hey they're free) on sale.

If you sign up for a Dell Preferred Account and follow the instructions included in this link the Elite will cost you $286 and the Pro $228. Phenomenal deals for either system. The deal lasts until this Thursday June 11 and from what I have read on the site these have the Falcon chipsets which are supposedly the second best out there behind Jasper. If this is true I'm not sure but for the Elite usually being $399 and the Pro $299 these are quite the deal.

    Link:
    http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/21445

Edit: The deal is now $250 for an Elite Holiday Bundle and $223 for a Pro. :woot:

only the 360s that are the re5 edition and new arcades are jaspers. you can tell before buying because their model numbers are like "xgx" or something where falcons are "qga" or something.

Yeah that's what the posters on slickdeals said (but they said only the new arcades have the jasper so who knows). Frankly to me it doesn't make a huge difference because I know if I get a 360 the RROD is inevitable, my choice is if I even want to go through that (thus why I haven't bought one yet). Luckily it will only be my filler system in between when the PS3 bores me, but nevertheless those are great deals for anyone.

Also thanks for the info.

Target is running Buy 2 get 1 free on all PS3, PS2, and PSP games this week. If you haven't picked up Infamous yet, I'd say now would be a great time (maybe along with UFC).

yeah, i got that info from new egg and slick deals. i'm in the same boat with the ps3. love the ps3 and the more i read about 360s they turn me off (especially after having my roommate's 360 rrod on me).

supposedly jaspers are quieter though and use less energy.

Agreed. I love the $286 price I quoted for the Elite but all the stuff I would have to buy extra to get it running like my PS3 (wireless, self charging controller, online gaming, etc.) would cost more than another PS3 and that's not counting games. :pity:
