Someone likes Victor Martinez. Overall some good lineups. I'd also consider Jason Schmidt as a possible FA target. He's impressed Torre and if he can get back to form, he'd be a real steal.

I like them. Might be a little worried about BA but will still do well. Unlike you I am not a fan of Victor Martinez but we will see shortly

Ya I am definitely a huge fan or Victor Martinez and Joe Mauer. Everytime I have one of them I seem to have a top two finish in that league. I would guess its because I tend to draft based on position scarcity (Utley 1-5), Longoria (2-17), Tulowiztki (5-55), Martinez (6-66).....

Schmidt is someone I am watching. His velocity has declined since his surgery which concerns me. Hes always been a fairly high whip/high k guy and I dont know that those K's will be there now so you may just be getting a guy with some wins and a mediocre era...aka Pedro on the Mets.

BA and steals worry me a little on the 2nd team...

Schmidt's honed his mechanics in preseason and camp to mitigate velocity slumps. Clocked 91 in 2 short innings though against live batters and is supposedly healthier than ever. Speaking of Pedro. I wouldn't mind if he came back to the Dodgers. Could platoon him and Schmidt at the 5th starters spot.

Anyone notable in FA? I'm sure you can drop one or two on the bench for someone who's a steals threat.

I had just picked up Travis Snider, someone just dropped Felipe Lopez. Im thinking I may use Lopez at Middle Infield instead of Yunel Escobar.

Lopez would help with steals. Escobar I might hold onto. When healthy, he can give you 15HR's and 75 RBI with a decent .300 BA.

And another one......13th pick in an 18 team league

    Stats used (9*9):
BA, HR, Runs, RBI, SB, 2B, 3B, OBP, Hits
W, L, Holds, Saves, ERA, WHIP, CG, SHO, K

    C: Brian McCann
    1B: Carlos Delgado
2B: Freddy Sanchez (Talk about positions that dried up quick!)
    SS: Troy Tulowitzki
    3B: Evan Longoria
    LF: Delmon Young
    CF: Vernon Wells
    RF: Ryan Spilborghs
    Util: Travis Hafner
    Util: Carlos Gomez
Bench: Daniel Murphy, Steven Pearce, Luis Castillo

    SP: Lincecum
    SP: Gallardo
    SP: Chris Carpenter
    RP: B.J. Ryan
    RP: Matt Lindstrom:
    P: Justin Masterson
    P: Jon Rauch
    P: Jason Motte
Bench: Joe Smith, Todd Wellemeyer, Mike Pelfrey

FA pool is extremely shallow after 432 players were drafted last night. In the past depth is always made me successful in this league and format so I think I did ok there. Guys like Gomez and Castillo hold some value because of their steals and triples...

Just curious what you guys think. Anything standout that needs an upgrade? If anything I might say RF but I really think Spilborghs will do well battling leadoff for Colorado.

Added my 5th and final one, an auction league ($260 cap).

I had 5 keepers from last year totaling $31 so I had 229 to spend today and I think I did well.

    C: Vic Martinez
    1B: Ryan Howard
    2B: Robby Cano
    SS: Rafael Furcal
    3B: Melvin Mora
    OF: Torii Hunter
    OF: Carl Crawford
    OF: Andre Either
    Util: Prince Fielder

Bench: Jayson Werth and Adrian Gonzalez (who I plan to deal...maybe package him with mora for an upgrade at 3B....but I wasnt letting someone get 36/113 for $17 when I had to pay 30 for Howard and Fielder)

    Pitching:
Cliff Lee (kept him for $6)
Mike Pelfrey (kept him for $6)
Ervin Santana (Kept him for $6)
Kerry Wood (Kept him for $7)
Ryan Dempster (Kept him for $6)
    Carlos Zambrano
    Justin verlander
    Mike Gonzalez
    Tommy Hanson
    Brad Ziegler
    Cris Carpenter

    Won.

Great early season FA pick ups put me over the top: Lind, Uballin Jimenez, Gavin Floyd (after the starts for him and Jimenez), and Edwin jackson. Won the regular season by 10+ games. Neither playoff round was close.

3rd. Top two teams were loaded. I won rd 1 as the 5 seed (beat the 4). Lost round two to the eventual champ. Beat the 1st place team in the consolation round

7th. Just missed the playoffs. Suffered some bad injuries but made some great trades to save my season. One more year and I might have squeaked in to the playoffs. Came back from 36 games back after week 11 to just miss the playoffs. Not great but i was ripping up the playoff teams down the stretch.

Winner 1st place, lost in the playoffs to a fluke week. The team I lost too got killed in the finals. Of course finals week I would have beat either team. Aggrevating after Beckham and Tulo were assed out of the semifinal round putting me at a serious disadvantage vs a very good hitting team when I needed all my guns blazing.
