This is a personal problem that I am in, so if you could care less about me and my situation you should stop reading now. Ok, this is a long freaking story so I'll try to get it down to the most important facts. This Time Line is not 100% accurate, but should should help: 12/25/07- "Santa Claus" brings me and my two little brothers a Playstation 3. 8/25/08- I start my 2nd Semester at UCF. My brothers get to keep the PS3 at home, so Im rocking the PS2 in college. 11/28/08- I realize I miss the PS3 and want to up my gaming experience. Since a PS3 is too expensive, I get an X-BOX 360 on Black Friday. I get 20 HD a extra wireless controller and a game. I also go to Game Stop and purchase Halo 3, Gears of War, the latest GTA. 11/29/08- I am still off of school and at home. My little Brothers want to play the X-Box 360 so they each give me $50.00 to play it ($100.00 total). 12/11/08- I get back to school and realize I don't like the X-Box 360 that much; in fact, i start playing PS2 in favor of the 360. 01/02/09- I try to work a deal out with my Brothers. Deal 1, was for me to give them the X-Box 360 and cash for the PS3 (Mom shot the deal down ). Deal 2, Ask my brothers if they want to buy the X-box 360 from me. Originally I wanted $120 more from them (since they already gave me $100), I went as low as $100 to which they said "No". So now, I have an X-Box 360 and like 6 games and don't know what to do. I can't sell it for how much i spent on everything, like $300. And yet, I can't sell it for the going "used" rate of about $200 and get some money back (I would have to re-pay my brothers each of their $50.00) so It would be like getting only $100.00 back. I am lost with what to do...lol. I think im just going to keep it, play the PS2 and then save up for a PS3. Any suggestions??? (thanks for reading this far if you made it)
save up for the ps3. one question i want to know how you duped your brothers into paying 50 bucks a pop to playing your system? can they come over to my place for a few days i need a few hundred bucks
LMAO. It was kind of like a deal. They can play it whenever they want, they are like partial owners (my Brother even took the system to his friends). That being said, they know when I go to College the system comes with me, but when I am home they can play it all they want.
I'd say it's not worth selling the 360, just start saving some money for the PS3. But hurry cause Killzone 2 is less than 2 months away
what is it that you don't like about the 360? And what is it that you like so much more about the ps3?
Hard to describe... I have been brought up on the Playstation though. I went from NES, to Super Neintendo, to Playstation, to Playstation 2, to the current situation. So I have been with the Playstation for a very very long time. I like the feel of the games and the gameplay. The graphics right now are just as good in PS3 and 360, is its not that. Free On-line game play is great too. The titles I play (NCAA, Madden, CoD4, and other 1st person shooters) go either way too, so its not like thats a big deal either. But I found it ackward when I had X-Box 360 and Madden 09 at my apartment, yet I found myself compelled to play and playing NCAA 08 on the PS2.
I would have advised you save up for the PS3 before buying the 360...you didnt have that much further to go. Now i'd say learn to love the 360 and get over it lol. Or work harder at selling it to your brothers.
So you bought Halo 3, Gears of War, and GTA and still didn't like the 360? (2 Microsoft exclusives there) Are you sure your last name isn't Sony? Did you really not like the games or were you just not very good at them? I don't see how the PS3 games could be all that much better/different than those 3 you named.
and are you just playing the games or are you playing online as well. That's where it's at right there!
I don't like Halo or Gears, is my last name Sony? I do like Left 4 Dead (EA get that port moving damn it!) and Fable II though.
You find online idiots everywhere, not just on that game. Personally the PS3 has nothing to offer for me that I can't get from my X box. I grew up on Nintendo for gods sake...but I was also a part of the Playstation phenom as well, but now I find I prefer the X box. I like more adult oriented games and X box has more to offer.
Lol, yeah my last names not Sony. I really just didn't care fore the games. Most of the time when I start out on games I am fairly good and i was with Halo 3, Gears of War not so much... I really dont get the buzz around Gears of War I wasn't that impressed. I've played them on-line and the actual games, but I prefer the PS3 for some reason. I'll probably just keep it and play with it until the summer whe I can work a lot of hours then buy the PS3 and sell the X-Box 360. That seems like the best bet for now.
That arguement is tiring but its unfortunately true. And reports of Playstation going under do not help either.
I don't believe in that argument. I have both systems and I don't see the 360 having that many more games.
heres the thing bro, you didn't give me a solid reason to WANT the ps3 over the 360. Maybe you hate the controller with a passion, but other then that i just don't understand. NCAA, COD4, Madden, etc, are all just as good on the 360 as they are on the ps3. If you had come out and said you really like Home, or you need to play MGS4, or LittleBigplanet is just amazing to you, or maybe your just psyched for killzone 2, then i'd say you should save up for the ps3. but you didn't say any of this, and these are what make the Ps3, as far as a gaming console anyway, different from the 360. (And thank you for not use the words "blu" or "Ray" in your reasoning) If you don't really care for madden 09 on the 360 (and i know what your saying, i didnt like it much myself) then your not going to like it on the ps3 either. Its the game, not the console. You may wanna check out NCAA 09 on the 360, wayyyy better than Madden IMO. ultimately though, i think you're pining after something cause you don't have it. And when/if you ever get a ps3, you may be left disappointed as the games you like most play exactly the same on both consoles. Of course it's your money and your life, so if you really want the ps3 then just save up and get it.
See for yourself (according to Wiki). There are 570 Xbox games. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games I'm not counting how many PS3 games there are, but here's the list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games
halo simply revolutionized how we play first person shooters. Its wildly popular and quite frankly Bungie has created the single greatest matchmaking system ever for an online shooter. I understand why people don't like it. It's simple, storyline is ridiculous and generally the internet hates anything thats popular. But it's fun. no denying that.
Some of the games on the lists haven't been released or aren't available America. Plus a lot of the games on the 360 list are only available on XBL. Some of which no one buys.
Even though it's not me being asked, I can't resist answering the question - 1. Free online play. I don't care about this perceived dominance about 360 online play. It doesn't make up for the fact that it's free on PS3. Free > Not Free 2. Good launch system. I have an earlier model PS3. It came with everything I need. Sony didn't re-launch a far superior version a year later in an effort to get me to buy the same system twice. 3. Looks better. My PS3 with HDMI > Original model Xbox360 without HDMI. 4. Sony doesn't nickel and dime for add ons. i.e. wireless internet, game content, maps, etc. 5. Blue Ray. Not why I bought it, but it sure is nice. Once you watch a movie on Blue Ray it spoils you forever. 6. Controller. System bundled with an awesome wireless controller that's CHARGEABLE. I don't have to go out and spend another 60 for a wireless chargeable controller. I own both systems, so this comparison is about as objective as it gets. People who don't own both should not speak on the subject, IMHO.
Quick! edit before Stitches reads it And yeah, the "there are no gamEz!!11!" argument is old and simply not true.
2. He meant a system that works. He has one of the first ones and it didn't burn up. 4. Yes the 360 comes with a headset BUT that will break in the first month if not less.
^They took out BC on the ps3 to bring the cost down. And the earlier PS3's were superior (IMO due to BC), while the original 360 was inferior in about every way(the changes I mean) to the current 360. And I play the wii (or did when I first got it) and the DS, I still wish my 360 had HDMI. It would be a hell of a lot easier than running VGA to my tv, then optical audio cable to my onkyo 606 like I do now. Thankfully I have a harmony remote to ease my pain I didn't think the 360 came with a headset? And not every xbox game is BC on the 360 either. PS1 games can be played on all ps3's so it too has some level of BC with every ps3. If blu-ray doesn't matter to them, I really see very few reasons to own a ps3 over a 360 though.
2. I have had 2 360's rrod. 4. I have lost 2 360 headsets and 1 ps3 headset (the jabra warhawk one) to my dog. The ps3 one actually still turned on and functioned after my dog got to it, it was just completely unwearable.
Am I the only one that gets bothered when people use "not every PS3 backwards compatible" as an arguement on why the system is inferior? Honestly, who cares? I don't see the big deal. If I wanted to play PS2 games I'd haul my PS2 out of storage where it has been sitting for the better part of 3 years. To me it's like saying "your Porsche is a piece of **** because you can't fit your old Honda Civic wheels on it". I'm a Sony guy and I'll always be a Sony guy as long as they make a system. I never owned a Genesis (always played at a friends) and I never owned an NES. the first "modenr" gaming machine I ever owned (I had an Intellivision, a ColecoVision and a 2600) was a PS1, followed by the PS2. Something about XBOX just does not feel right to me. I hate the controllers.
False! I am one. Edit: I should have read closer where you said "Some of". My bad, but I do buy a lot of games on Live.
There are a lot of XBL games. Most of which are like shovelware. Obviously there are a few great ones.
I agree with you guys for the most part about Blue Ray. I didn't factor it into my decision to buy PS3. But I have to admit, I've grown to love it. Honestly I still enjoy Xbox360 and some of their titles. But I enjoy the PS3 more. It used to be the other way around, but Microsoft's business practices have turned my favor towards the PS3. I like the Wii too, but that's more for just virtual console and a couple awesome games like Smash Brothers, Zelda, etc.
This is what I don't understand. I hear people say, "I am a Nintendo person!" or "I'm an Apple person!". If a system has games I like to play and doesn't try to force feed me their video format (when I want a gaming console to just play damn games), I am happy. Even if the format force feeder would start releasing enough good exclusives, I would probably buy one of those too. It's all about the games! Screw the Blueray, and the wireless Super Duper motion controllers, or the new add on that tickles your testicles when something explodes. I just want games.
