This season has been an amazing one for the Miami Dolphins below are a few records that may be broken this year by our beloved Fins. - 1st team to go from 1-15 the previous year to 10+ wins the next season. (1992 Indianapolis Colts and the 1997 NY Jets both followed their 1-15 seasons with 9 wins) - Miami Dolphins single season sack record 18 1/2 currently held by Bill Stanfill (1973) and Jason Taylor (2002). Joey Porter stands at 16 1/2 with 3 games to go. _ Fewest turnovers in a single season (14) held by the 1990 NY Giants. Miami is on track to set the record currently with 10 (6 INT and 4 fumbles lost). Please feel free to add any other records that may be broken by the 2008 Dolphins. Here's to the 2008 Miami Dolphins........
With 11 wins, we would Tie Colts for greatest 1 season turn around for # of wins. Colts went from 1998 3-13 to 1999 13-3 (10 wins). Phins would go 1-15 to 11-5 (10 wins). Also, Jets and Colts following their 1-15 seasons didnt make the payoffs with 9 wins. We can make the playoffs and be the first 1-15 franchise to turn it around the following season including playoff qualification. Giants turnover total is 14 '90. I thought Chiefs only turned it over 12 times in '82? http://www.nfl.com/history/randf/records/team/turnovers
How many games were played in 82? I think it was only 9 games. Wasn't there a lock out or something that year? Also, didn't Miami go to the SB that year and lose the the DAMN Redskins? 14 is fewest for a 16 game season I think.
