The good news for budget-conscious consumers is that many retailers are slashing prices because of the soft economy. "Retailers are going to great lengths to drive traffic to their stores and online," says Dan de Grandpre, founder and chief executive of dealnews, a Web site devoted to finding deals. They really have been ramping up deals in the past few weeks, he says.
amazon has been having great deals for about the last week. Everyday they add more stuff. Add in free S&H and no tax on a lot of stuff, and it's a good place to look.
Having worked for Emerson/Sansui/Orion for years you get what you pay for with thier products. You may get one that lasts forever but most likely you wont.

It appears that WalMart price matches other stores Black Friday ads, even their door busters, as long as WalMart carries the same item. I'd call ahead and find out, but if you have 2 or 3 stores you're looking at going to, just going to WalMart would save a lot of time. Not to mention to get a door buster at Best Buy you'd have line up now lol. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. - Walmart Confirms Three Days of Black Friday Savings
I guess my thing Is that I'm just not looking to spend very much this holiday season and I absolutely hate shopping so there is nothing that I need bad enough to stand in those ridiculous lines for. I don't need any big ticket items and the smaller things for me aren't worth saving 5 bucks on a CD or game and have to bear with those throngs of people that will stomp, crowd and push you out of the way to get what they want. Now if something absolutely amazing came along I might. I remember years past someone sold Bose systems for 50.00 for the first whatever # of people through the door. That might rouse me but that would be about it.
I hear you. We are not doing anything for Christmas this year. Check on line bro, as many retailers are doing on line specials as well.
