for the record, the story line was 10000000 times better than Gears1 (like that's hard...) and the game itself is much more epic. I loved it. The ending leads right into Gears3
they put the story down THICK. Acting is top notch too. Some parts almost made ol' Mor want to tear up. No joke.

Hopefully it completely demolishes Resistance 2, which has been a major let down thus far. I never owned Gears; I was PS3 exclusive then. Played it, and thought it was good but not as good as Resistance. Gears 2, however, looks amazing.
Played it last night courtesy of my bro... didn't get too far in as the night was getting old but it didn't seem to me, so far, to have the same mood as the first... not quite as dark. Does it get darker? I sure hope so, I really don't want this game to let me down. And I must be the only person in the world to have little to no interest in resistance. It was the first game I had on my ps3 and I played it all of once.
I never had a ps3 so its pretty obvious why i've never had an interest, but ultimately from what I've seen it looks generic. (So is Halo though, so i dont totally mean that as a bad thing.) I guess its good that ps3 owners have a game like resistance to play. I'm quite happy with Gears though. Side note: any one get the gears Novel? Im 60 pages in. I like it so far.

just picked it up at lunch, the Circuit City by my work was out of the MS points cards so I got a $20 gift card instead. Can't wait to get home and pop it in.
Yeah man, why didnt circuit city advertise that deal sooner? I'd have been all over that. Course i didnt see the commercial until i already played 3 hours of my copy.
Nope you are not alone, I don't plan on picking up resistance. I may have to pick up gears 2, I did not care to much for the 1st I could just not get the hang of that game. But it sounds like they have made 2 a little ........."more playable" for lack of a better term. Until things pick up in the housing industry, I have to pick and choose which games I get.
this game is sooo good. graphics are insane, the story is great, and its so much fun. short but very very sweet, after a few hours of playing i estimate im 40-50% finished. but i love this franchise.
check out the multiplayer with the bots. It's actually really good. They've pretty much thought of everything with this one. Im very pleased with it.
This game is sick. So far I've only done online campaign (which is the only way to play campaign, IMO). I think I'm in chapter 4... I'd have to check to be sure. My big complaint is ammo. If you're online playing co-op there needs to be more then a box of ammo here and there. It gets obnoxious. The story line is great. Glad they went as far as they did to fix that aspect. But where is the hammer of dawn? I thought Cliffy B said it was available from the start?
most the game takes place underground, so the hammer of dawn isn't really an option... It's in the game though, just not till chapter 5.
Oh it's fantastic. The cutscenes were very good. Not to long to take you out of the action, but long enough to make you feel for the characters. This may have been the most impressive part of the game because of how poorly they did it the first time around.
I beat it earlier tonight. The story was fantastic, the gameplay is top notch, etc. Nothing but great things to say. I am surprised at... Spoiler the 'boss" battles. The boat with the water monster was easy as ****.. Skorge was dumb as hell. I'm surprised there was no battle to finish the game. Riding the Brumack (sp?) was fun, but I was expecting so much more. General Ramm was a *****, for me. Although I'm glad I finally got to use the Hammer of Dawn. That thing is so much fun. The ending was cool. Wasn't expecting Adam Fenix at the end. Can't wait for Gears 3.
Spoiler What exactly happened to her? Did he kill her to end her suffering, or was she going to turn? Sucks about Jai, too. He semeed like he could of been a cool character. Although Cole "train" is by far the best character in the game. As long as he's alive I'm good.
what difficulty were you playing on? i always play through it first on normal but, like gears 1, there should probably be another setting between normal and hardcore.
