My first jonb was being a busboy for Barebones. I am stiill a busboy at barbones. If you ever in Ellicottcity Maryland or Stuart Florida check us out. Here is a link to our website. Bare Bones Grill and Brewery So what was your first job?
Newspaper boy. For those customers didn't tip, they got an extra hard throw in the early am. While in high school, I cleaned washers and dryers at a laundry mat before school to have some money in my pocket, and help mom out.
Worked at a movie theater. Probably cost them money with all the movie watching, stealing and destruction of property i did in all the four months(that felt like a year) i was there.
The first thing I was given compensation for was putting putty in nail holes at the construction sites where my dad ran his painting crews. At 5 I could only reach so high up so there were a lot of nail holes above 4 feet or so. First paying job was as a yard person for a storage company.
I worked in a cubicle at the office building of my dad's company. I think I had just turned 16. HATED IT. I spent most of my time surfing the internet and talking to the cute girl across the hall... come to think of it thats not too much different from my current job... at least I've shed the cubicle and work at a place with my own office
I mowed lawns and other odd jobs like scoreboard keeper for my old Middle/Elementary school. My first real job was a work study job at East Tennessee State University.
i worked in a warehouse when i was 15 for the summer months and then I started working at stop and shop (supermarket) as a grocery bagger.. Those were some fun times..Dated so many girls from that place.. I used to smoke weed while I pushed carriages.
there was a time when we doused watermelons in lighter fluid and then lit them on fire and hurled them into the parking lot from the roof of the store. that was... interesting. also where i discovered you can make 20 foot plumes of fire with powdered coffee creamer
my first official job... was at a car dealership, I started in the winter just pushing snow off the cars when it snowed so they were presentable... then I started working there through school, washing cars, and cleaning the shop at night... i stayed there all through highschool, and college, after college i started to sell cars... then i quit there after oh.. 10 years or so, and moved on my my second job... which after 4 years, is still my current job... What a great gig that car dealership was though... cruising around in peoples cars, we dogged it so much there it was ridiculous! alot of funny stories came from working there...
First job was a gofer for our local Airline (Cayman Airways), great job, paid a fortune (for a high school kid) and got to hang out with all of the flight attendants.
After reading a few more posts I lowered my standards. I suppose my first job was nicking Porno mags from our local news agencies and selling them to the kids at my boarding school. Made a bloody fortune!
I worked at the Computer Store at Ackerman Union. Fixed computers, handled sales and tech advice, re-furnished hard drives, RAM, iPods, and Macbooks for myself.....
I used to be a waiter at a place called Meadowbrook Lodge, it was where people had their reception, prom, sweet 16 ect... I did that for two years, i hated it but made good friends working there so it was good. I was 15 i think when i started. My boss broke so many laws. I remember at 16 working a party until 2am on a tuesday. I got a good tip that night so i did not mind. i remember working during a day i had school so i had to skip school to work a party for a hospital committie, which was baiscly a whole bunch of old people and well that was the worst party i worked by far. My favorite party i worked was an Indian Party where they got there own severs so i did nothing all night except clean at the end of the night
I worked at Tomorrowland Terrace in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World. At that time it was the busiest fast food restaurant in the world. What a nightmare! Worked my way up though and eventually got hired to sing and play Chip 'n Dale.
Judging that you are about my age, and I used to go to Disney World a lot when I was younger up into my late teens, I probably checked you out when you working LOL
my first job was with pacific telephone (ATT) as a cable splicer. made $97.50 a week back in 1968 and lived better than most do now.
I worked in Tobacco fields when I was 13. I made a ton of money doing this all summer long, let me tell you it was very tough work.
Im 14. My first job was making professional barbecues. I now work as an assistant to a professional D.J. The Indian party was the worst one I've been to. I had to stand there doing nothing since they had their own "D.J.". 6 hours and they wouldnt let me leave. I do some things for extra money, which since Im 14, I have no idea what to spend on.
